Years ago in my first playthrough I didnt know about the memes the community made about dismas and reynauld being best friends but sometime around mid game I got jumped by the collector almost reaching a safe zone and during that run I had both dismas and reynauld with me because they were some of my highest characters at the time and then dismas died in that encounter by a crit and then coincidentally reynauld became hopeless, unfortunately for me the game's dice rolls for letting me flee wouldn't allow me and because for that my man at arms got killed and I still couldn't get out of the fight, by the time I could run my vestal was one shot and reynauld was afflicted, after that encounter I don't know if it was just extreme luck or maybe some sort of character trait but for reynauld every time he got his stress maxed he would always turn out virtuous, sometime later I found out about how the community made them out to be and then I made a little story for that event and to me it became canon that after dismas died and because of reynauld becoming useless another of my characters died, he decided to never let anyone die again and in my many runs with reynauld in the party I didnt have a single death and he would always become virtuous in the best moments, he was also there for the final boss. A couple of months after that amazing first playthrough I got invited to play d&d for the first time and I modeled my first character as a paladin who would go to any lengths to protect his party members in reynauld's honor TLDR: Dismas's death is good for character development.

Only after your done with a projekt you know how to do it. Like the first characters you creat for a story are often worse in comparision to your newest. Because now you learnt how to creat fitting charecters for your story. Wich is why i always re_write the beggining once im done with something.
