Thank you, don’t worry about how you explain the sewing of these trousers, I’m a visual learner ( I think lots of people are) so the actual video shots of putting the trousers together are all important to me and all I need. 🙋🏼♀️🇬🇧

I'm a baby sewer (literally a newborn) but your videos always make me feel like it's 100% achievable! I don't know if I'm going deaf (possible) but I felt like the sound was quite low though :) could be just me!! Thanks for your videos xx

So glad I could help make sewing seem more approachable for you!! No that's definitely not you. With all the background noise going on from when I recorded this, it became pretty hectic when I tried to boost the volume like I normally do. Lesson learned to wait for more ideal voice recording days haha.

wow that zip flap thing that you did!! I think that's so much easier than the traditional way of sewing it. also if you want your pants to be longer.... the amazing thing about a checkered print is you can extend the fabric without it being very noticeable at all! you just have to line up the darks and the whites alternately and sew right on the lines, if you know what I mean. hope this helps!!
@TheEssentialsClub3 жыл бұрын
Love hearing that! This was honestly my first time doing a front zipper like that and just from looking at my other pants it seemed like a straight forward way to recreate it - so I'm glad it came across that way! yesss I've totally thought about this! I think I might eventually give that extra fabric idea a go.

Is there a way to make without a zipper?
@TheEssentialsClub3 жыл бұрын
It's definitely possible to make these without a zipper but you'd need to adjust the width of the waist area - meaning it wouldn't have that hugging fit. Once you've extended the width of the waist area so it can be pulled up over your thighs/hips/etc then add an elastic waist section in. Essentially you'd be making longer versions of these - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oau8moaaoJ6cnpY

How do you finish your seams? I always worry about them not being neat or coming apart!
@TheEssentialsClub3 жыл бұрын
I always go back through and trim any excess material from the seams then zig zag stitch the edges to prevent fraying. Sometimes I'll do it before particular steps where I know it'll be too hard to access later 😊
@becky36873 жыл бұрын
@@TheEssentialsClub thanks!! Think I need to get to grips with zig zag stitching seams a bit better to feel confident!
@shakes10263 жыл бұрын
I didn't quite get how you finished the pockets, there was a little extra fabric over the edge of the main leg Panal, what did u do with that? (I really hope you understand what I mean because I don't know how to explain it) 😅
@TheEssentialsClub3 жыл бұрын
I ended up chopping that off! It was just a bit wider than what I wanted it to be so just shifted it off the edge. Sorry for the confusion! The measurements I provided in the voiceover reflects the correct process still though ☺️
