Really appreciate your videos that show us DIYer how to go through the prep like the fundamentals on masking technique, cut ins, etc. All other videos by other do video after video on just painting but nothing on using safety, prep, cut in, and techniques. I would be interest in seeing you do a concrete epoxy coating on a garage floor and whether you can spray or roll it?

Josh, you are a BEAST Brother! I don't think I've ever seen the inside of a garage that didn't have paint and compound all over everything you just taped off or even painted at all. Kudos to you for doing it right and detailed excellence I might add. God Bless you my friend, take care and stay indoors you're gonna get snowed in today. 🌬❄🥶🌨☃️😄

Thanks a lot! I always try to keep my drywall and painting looking good. After all it is the final coat! Yes the snow is still pouring here. I’m not a huge fan of the winter time that’s why I always tan my houses to where I can work inside during the cold months. Thanks for watching Silver Grizzly!

Josh, Showing exactly how even a garage should be treated like the inside of the house is so important. I couldn't tell you how many houses I've been in to do work and see how everything you took the time to prep and keep clean was covered with compound, paint. Garage door springs were always the worst, besides all the mounting tracks etc. When I finished drywall for years, by us garages were always textured along with the house but one thing I didn't do was roll the walls with compound. That's when things got covered with compound. Rollers wouldn't fit behind the spring, guys would just push it behind and you can imagine what a mess that made. Enough of that though. Thanks for this video to show how important it is to have a nice clean look when the job is complete. It's how it should be by All contractors. Have a great day Sir.

Hey David! I have seen a lot of houses where they do not even paint the garage. I guess it really still functions the same but I think it looks way better to be painted. It really doesn’t take too much extra time to do so. Especially with a sprayer. I am glad I’m inside painting the house now because it is snowing like crazy right now! I appreciate you stopping by David!

@@TheExcellentLaborer that's very true as well. I've driven by where all you see is yellow drywall from years of sitting with the tape joints. And if they are just rolled with compound and not sealed it breaks down and just peels off and flakes off the walls too. You are so correct it does not take much especially when it's done has a brand new home. To take another 3 hours to do it right. I'm just grateful that you put out videos that you do that cover all the areas to have a good job at the end of the day.

Heiio Josh ... excellent job with the video demonstration. Teo questions - my garage walls were painted white some 10 years ago by previous owner so is there any need to prime? 2nd, how many hours to paint this garage not including the prime coat? Thank you!

Josh, I just did a first impression review on a Keson K3X chalk line reel that I bought from Amazon. They are the only chalk line reels made in the USA. Tajima might be better but I want something USA made.

Defeating the purpose for spraying... So you don't have to roll it or brush it....

He *needs* a mixing squirrel for that 5-Gal buckit - wOwser after 5 mins of stirring -> I'd be turning o-l-d grey~ lol. DiGGs the tuneage when on 5x video speed! So - Question: If you know you are going to do a 2nd coat - why not go opposite the light path on the first one - so that Phil will take care of the sheen on the second coat (that shouldn't allow for holidays or other sheen issues while ensuring a nice even finish?).,. and so - on the walls,. one can accomplish/ master that technique with a longer lightweight rigid extension and of course with practice. Another tip: Use body lotion on your skin/ face prior to painting -- it makes **HUGE** difference/ don't need a scouring pad to remove paint from skin at clean up). 😉 Excellent video - As always!

If you're spraying AND rolling, why not just roll - I wonder.
@TheExcellentLaborer Жыл бұрын
It is really helpful to get the paint on the wall with the sprayer compared to dabbing it into the tray multiple times. When you comes to doing a whole house or a big room, it will make sense after you do it both ways. I hope that helps!
