Awesome telling of the story, as usual. I've said similar before, but thanks so much for staying with SCP for so long. This is my favorite channel for that content, and I love that you don't simply do something like reading the article verbatim, but instead actually tell the story and give your understanding of it at the end. I know that, realistically, you will likely have to start covering another "franchise" in the future alongside SCP (like you did with 40K for a time) but I'm glad we're back to weekly SCP, at least for a time. I always look forward to it.

Jealous? The aggressive people of all of Europe came here, every bold adventurer, every entrepreneur, every criminal, every person with hair on their chest left Europe for over a hundred years and came here. So yes, we have a more violent and individualistic populace. And the police similarly have to be alot tougher than European police, who are dealing with a docile populace bred for centuries to be subservient to a monarch, all the rebellious bloodlines either snuffed out or run off, and the rest given a cultural ethos that reinforces obedience and conformity to the herd. Also, we haven't forfeited our right to self defense so we have guns, so the police know the average American is likely to be WAY more dangerous than elsewhere (which is fine, but that why you see them being alot more on edge than London bobbies who might deal with a knife)

Gotta love it when someone who's never been to Ireland tries to write about Ireland. "Local police warn it to stop or they'll shoot" with what guns? Gardai (our police) don't typically carry guns, thats the whole point point of their name "An Garda Siochana" meaning peaceful protectors. Also the two story coffee shop was oddly specific and at first made me wonder if they had a place in mind, but then I realised they just dont know that most places don't go for two floors of the same business here. You often have a subway on top of a supermarket or the like in the city, and in the country its probably a one story building to begin with

The SCP itself and the story is great. Kinda wish it didn't end up as another origin story for useful characters though. I guess it's setting up for larger worldbuilding and overarching tales - having another faction suddenly turn up with Fey-adjacent powers and a hatred of the Foundation is a nice card in the deck for when everyone's a bit too used to the existing factions.

This one got me feeling a certain way. Alsp: "If someone asked you to name the most beautiful word or phrase in English, how would you choose? Would it be based on the meaning of the word? How it sounds? How it’s spelled? There are some words, like “love,” “comely,” or “demure,” that seem like solid contenders. But the compound word that some believe to be the most inherently beautiful will likely come as a colossal surprise. “Cellar door.” That’s no typo. In terms of phonaesthetics, cellar door is often held up as an example of the most euphonic sound combination. J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, is credited as one of the first to make this claim. Phonaesthetics is the study of the euphony and cacophony of words without regard for semantics. Phonaesthetics derives from two Greek word parts that mean “voice-sound” and “aesthetics.” Euphony is used most commonly to describe the pleasing, agreeable sound effect of poetry. In general, vowel sounds are more euphonious. Cacophony, meaning harsh and discordant, is the opposite of euphony. Cacophony comes from the Greek word parts meaning “bad,” “evil,” and “voice.”"

Good to see a SCP story where the Fae are not fucked over or fuck someone over- the war between the humanity and them has raged so long ago that truce is something both sides should finally strive for, not a dominion over one another. Life, afterall, is a game with only loosers or deadlock and a loss learned from is far better than ramming ones head against a wall over and over with the same solution hoping it will finally fit the non-existent hole.

Martlets are said to be in flight from birth to death, never roosting once for they have no feet to do so. At the end of the article, when the entity finally earns his name, Martlet roosts on his shoulder. A bird meant to be without a home for its entire life, forced to exist in perpetual flight... roosts. The fate of the mythical Martlets also plays into the theme of 'having a name but no self/meaning' in the article. Yet here she is, after a lifetime, finally able to roost beside her other half. Not reunited as one. But as two.
