The very first time I ever heard this song I remember thinking to myself and saying out loud that this is the most beautiful song ever written and I still think that. I have heard lots of music and lots of beautiful songs from various genres and artists all my life, yet none of them are as ethereally, hauntingly mesmerisingly beautiful as this song. I could listen to Saturn over and over again and never get tired of it, which is rare for me because I tend to lose interest in song after a while. But this is the only so I can listen to repeatedly and never get sick of it.

I completley think and feel the same! It's soo unbelivable gorgeus and otherworldly I really can't but in words how much I love this Song. And to everyone I show this I say "Please keep this like a treasure because it is! You will never hear something like this again!" I know opinions are different but I never known everybody who was not completley flashed and cried from that song! It's really the universe to me

it's even more beautiful to know that the lyrics are dedicated to the Cassini probe, crashed into Saturn's atmosphere in 2017 as its last act of life and knowledge. A probe that has gone far beyond its initial mission and has really allowed us to get to know a piece of infinite.

Music is a spiritual experience for many of us. That's why we all connect with it so much. It has the power to bring out the best in all of us, our true essence, even when it's burried under the mask we all adopt to protect ourselves and our loved ones from the hard knocks of life.

YESSSSSSSSSS THIS IS MY FAVOURITE ARTIST OF ALL TIMEEEE - if you love this you are going to LOVE his entire discography - every song is this level of intentional and beauty it’s crazy if u want more recommendations from him id go with “eight”, “sea of atlas”, “silhouettes” “emphasis”, “Neptune”, “two” “awake” and “asleep” (but literally every song is great you really cannot go wrong) He also is a literal one-man machine: he writes all the music, all the lyrics, produces it himself, mixes it himself and plays all the instruments (sometimes he has a guest play, but usually alone) Incredible artist, I’d LOVE more reactions - he’s so underrated

Please remember that it's important to hear the song all the way through - especially this one. It's okay to be unsettled a bit by it - to try to find your feet when the music and the words leave you treading on emotional air and fire. (And that reaction never, ever ends...it's been years sintce I first heard this...and it still lets me be able to BE.)

Man, first hearing this song was such a spiritual moment for me too. I was struggling in college at the time, staying up late and doing homework and stressed out for so many reasons. My roommate put this song on shuffle and fell asleep, so for like 2 hours I was listening to this song on repeat while doing homework and it gave me such peace. It was probably 3am and the entire world just seemed to vanish, it was only me on my couch in the soft glow of a lamp, and this song to soothe my soul

I'm glad you found him. I've been listening to some of his music for a few years now. Especially before bed, or in nature. This is my first and favourite song of his. He's great. If you want some more great instrumental (mainly) music, I also recommend Havasi, a Hungarian pianist and composer, bringing classical into contemporary. He's brilliant, I'll see him live in a few months. I'd start with "The Storm". So many good music out there!

You should absolutely react to or listen to the whole album. He wrote an album called "Atlas: Space" in which he has a song for every planet and the lyrics are based on each planet's characteristics. Saturn is from that album and the album goes in order of the planets from the sun to Pluto. I was about to write my favourites but realised they're all absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend them all.

This song introduced me to Sleeping At Last and his music had changed my life so much and made me see the world in new ways. His music is pure poetry. And Saturn is still one of my all-time faves. It was written about Galileo's legacy (discovering Saturn) from the POV of his children watching him study the stars. The singer/songwriter, Ryan, has since dedicated it to his mother who passed.

This is the best reaction of this song I've seen thus far. I'll add my 2 cents. 'I'd write it down but I can never find a pen' I interpret that he can never find the words to carry the same meanings that he heard from his leaving friend. It's only later once he himself is passing away that he became capable of imparting the same message. ❤️

Your reaction to this video from the long instrumental intro was somewhat my feeling of it. It was extremely emotional as I first heard it. And then the lyrics hit and just broke me down because not long before I heard this song I’d lost a sibling unexpectedly. It was a giant kick in the nuts when I first heard it in a very personal and good way. It is a gorgeous song that can mean so much. In both a personal and painful way, but also painful and cathartic way.

He did a song for Cassini, using pieces of his planet songs based on Cassini’s path. I cried at that song, in part because in a way it felt like hearing this song for the first time again
@jeroen_pardon2 жыл бұрын
The thought behind this song is actually multi layered. In a more philosophical sense it indeed is about life, death and passing along wonders of the world to future generations (notice how in the beginning he sings about how "you explain the infinite" and in the end instead he sings "I'll explain the infinite". In a more literal sense if you will it is a tribute to the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft which was in orbit around saturn for over 13 years before burning down in a controlled crash (death). It's mission was an succes beyond expectation and delivered a greater understanding of Saturn's system and (explaining) the universe. As amazing as the spacecraft was (to even exist), there was a time where it needed to go to a final resting place before sending it's last pictures (see it one more time). It's pure poetry if you ask me.
I've been listening to this song for over a year now and I've got the nuance nailed down, but your review blew me away!

in these war days here i came across your reaction on a song i once knew long time ago in peaceful days.. and you know even living through these dark days like walking through dark woods slowly seeing light in front of this strange unfair reality I now think such songs are meant to stop us as some certain period of time and make us all realize or remember we are here to cherish what we have, cherish each other, keep it, protect it for our kids to do the same for their generation.. and that's just how life goes.. even the war as i see it now can teach you to love life when it's just daily moments filled with daily little problems but the peace is the thing you don't notice until it's taken away from you... war is a great teacher and so is the music.. and that all is life.. I enjoyed your perspective of a song especially before the moment you heard the lyrics. great artistic soul the one you have. greetings from Ukraine) 💙💛

I’m also VERY late to this party, but if you like the meaning in the music video… Sleeping At Last IS FOR YOU! He has a song called Jupiter, and he put out little making of blurbs, and this is what he had to say about Jupiter and Saturn: 1. JUPITER I wrote this song from the perspective of Galileo Galilei, who discovered Jupiter’s 4 Moons, which are consequently named the "Gailelean Moons." The song is divided into 4 parts, representing each of the moon’s Mr. Galileo discovered. If you listen close, you’ll hear some radio static that NASA recorded of Jupiter’s unique storm systems. Because Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, it's an awful lot of planet to explore - so as I wrote this song, I tried to have it constantly progressing into new territory. 2. SATURN I liked the idea of following Jupiter with a song perhaps written from Galileo’s children perspective. It’s very much a song about losing someone close and deeply loved, but it’s about the good they left behind in our lives and how to reflect that in your relationships in front of you. The collection of Cellos on this song were played by Sharon Gerber. Saturn is of course our most photogenic planet, with it's gorgeous rings, so musically I aimed as best I could to write something worthy of such good looks. I held the word "beautiful" as a measuring stick constantly as I wrote the music, asking myself "is this beautiful.. enough?" This is of course an impossible task, but I had fun with the challenge.
