@@DD-wd7ku the overall performance is 9 and a half years. his handling of the two voices is incredible. using two distinct techniques, one lyric (bocelli) and the other more modern canto (celine), very difficult to perform at the same time. the only defects I noticed are, they are its general diction in Italian, for example the S used differently and pronounced like Z and the atra, the breath is not always impeccable, example: breathing in the wrong points of the song is not only not it is correct but counterproductive for the sound that is given to the song. like where there was supposed to be a long support in several notes, he breathes. otherwise he is a great world artist and will go a long way. unfortunately having studied lyric and chamber for 11 years, when I listen to a singer, how does it sound to my ears, how not everyone does.🤷♀️

Excellent analysis. I have seen this video countless number of times, and you are the first vocal coach who immediately picked up that he had the capability to use his voice in another way (which he did with his operatic lower register) by commenting on his lack of use of facial muscles when he began to sing. You are very knowledgeable and great in communicating your analyses of singers.

I love seeing these vocal coaches nit pick the "opening space" for that particular note... And then brain breaks a few seconds after. Because after their brain breaks... They couldn't nit pick anymore due to the immense RANGE he is doing. Im glad someone realize that the reason for that small opening was him holding back keeping the feminine soft yet robust high notes.

As you say, his transitions are amazing. I can see his setup is specific. He can hear or feel his transitions and has them memorised. This accounts for the controlled facial expression and release at the end. Free flowing singers are letting their emotion control the song whereas Marcelito is using deliberate and meticulous muscular transitions, backed up with controlled airflow. Loved it and your zany analysis 💙

I just felt I needed further explanations on his vocals and techniques, so watched loads and loads of videos. Then, I came across your channel, & you answered all the questions I had about Marcel's vocals. Simon C really pushed Marcelito's skills and 'act'.... His start in life was so hard, a baby whose mother abandoned him, father was in prison and he had to live with him in there until he broke free and started living on the streets, he got a job looking after chickens and used to sing to them. Eventually, someone took him under his wing. A story that would have crushed most people, but he focused on learning to sing any way he could. No, he is not formally trained, he just has a good ear and can mimic the voice and has the vocal ability to do it. His is a bad story made good. But, nowhere near the quality and abilities of Dimash. Like your feedback, it's very instructive. You don't talk over people's heads.
