But I have to say that I especially appreciated your extraordinarily well thought out philosophical rant at the end of this video. Hey, thanks for your reaction to our amazing Diana Ankudinova. She has had a lot of slack for the way she sings. Some people just do not like it. She has persevered. Personally I love her low rounded sound. That is what drew me to her as an artist. Thanks for encouraging people to use use what they have to their advantage in singing. Diana recently sang anther song, on the same show, called “CROW”. It is a cover and she really changed it up and did a fantastic job, and very different from anything she has done before. The song was ornamented by her ethnic abilities. You should try and react to that one next. Love you! Would love to react to more songs. Thanks for your knowledge.

It’s not just her voice that is awesome, but her confidence, her take on the covers, her background story, and her performance. It’s easy to forget how dialed in she is at an early age-then listening to her again you’re reminded how very good she is.
@skepto-o-punk82863 жыл бұрын
The world is full of people who work very hard to "conform" and not stand out at all. Often when they encounter people who refuse to do this then they tend to reject them quite aggressively. The funny thing is, these same people -- once they see that a sort of "critical mass" have accepted what they once rejected because it was so different they suddenly hop on the band-wagon and act like they had embraced it from the beginning. Now Diana is a juggernaut that has been lauded the world over then many will climb aboard her fan-club. Only those that haven't heard of her yet haven't. From what I've observed, it is the pro vocalists that recognize Diana's genius right away -- I've seen some reactions by non-vocalists/non-musicians that don't "get" her.
@capzerg Жыл бұрын
@@skepto-o-punk8286 I think that what people believe or like or not like should not influence at all what you like in any way, as what resonates with you its ok, if you just like it, it should be enough. That little battle between fans and haters of bands or singers (most like sports) for me its kinda boring. Specially in art and music, where there's no competition at all, into expressing ourselves (and we shouldn't convert others to our music tastes). And I may say that non-musicians (I hate that expression because we are all truly musicians in diff ways) tend to praise virtuosity and voice tesituras or colors more than professional musicians that may enjoy just a cat playing the piano by accident. After saying that, Diana's voice is a true anomaly, and as a contralto lover, im totally seduced by her tone and voice. I had the luck of living in a church attic in the middle of Manhattan where I was aiding into many opera auditions for the Lincoln Center where taking place. And I was surprised when hearing many unheard and anonymous singers, that blew my mind. But this lady has a special passion in her voice, and we all want to know what she is up to. But I would really love that she takes her time and enjoys every step, and that nobody pushes her into any stress. Everything she does is magnificent and touches many hearts, that's so beautiful to see. Have a nice day.

I think it's a stylistic thing. Her voice is interesting and unusual but not something that particularly appeals to me. I am not saying she's not a good singer in her own way but it's just hard to listen to at times. I think maybe that is my Western ears or something maybe? No idea.

Diana is a measured dramatic contralto that can sing in polyphonic overtones with binaural sounds (alpha beta delta theta) that hypnotize and tickle the soul, her sound isn't made for radio it's for the big stage at this point, because none of us can sing along in the car, she's one in seven billion

Oh how I love you! Interesting about Diana is that she was terribly abused by her birth mother and was mute when she was given to an orphanage around 4 yo I think; it was her muteness that led to her adoptive mother taking her to voice lessons. Of all the voice coaches that have reacted to her, your reaction has been by far the most interesting and useful to help make any sense of what was witnessed in Ankudinova's rendition of 'Can't help falling in love'. Additionally, your words about celebrating differences were pure gold. Thanks for that!

FVM I must say that the more I watch your videos the more I appreciate you and the more I enjoy the videos. First of all is your omnipresent good humor. These days that is very much appreciated. Also appreciated is your vast knowledge of music theory and the mechanics of singing. It’s one thing for me to listen to Diana and marvel at her performances but it’s really a blessing to have you commenting while I listen. I noticed the extreme close up but I just thought that decision was just due to self confidence. It certainly brought out your gorgeous eyes. OK I’ll stop before one of us gets embarrassed lol. Thanks again for your contributions to the KZbin community.

Nonsense, because all the terms that stand for singing were not integrated because of it, because there were some great voices in history with the same effect. It is only in the right century where there is no comparison, but there will be such a person again in the next century .You can be proud as much as you want, that's perfectly fine and justified, but don't assume that it's unique. That's what it is at the moment, but that's going to change, as in any other way. You can be proud as much as you want, that's perfectly fine and justified, but don't assume that it's unique. Great informative react - as always. Yes. Blissfully unique! Yes - at her young age she's overcome a lot of adversity. { read her history}. She's not a victim of her past however, but a beautiful strong resilient & determined Survivor - with a spectacular talent & career ahead of her. Still studying & developing her artistry. LOVE Diana.

I enjoy listening to you because you are aware of more than just techniques, feelings, perception, experience, and seeing. You are very awake in your comments at the end of the video and I find that as important as her singing. It is coming from the same place. You know what I mean, don't you? thank you!

Thank you for this marvelous, very informative analysis. You're one of my favorite reactors, and wrt this song the first I've heard refer to DA as having an "in-built subwoofer" and that's just so spot on!

A lot of the artists you react to are new to me, so I always enjoy these reactions because I get to learn so much about the artists as well! As always, what a great analysis!!! 💙💖🤍 Edit: the ending really touched me. It’s so true what you’re saying, it meant a lot to me to hear you say that as it totally applies to me and I’m sure many others as well 💙 what a beautiful lesson..

I just heard this performance last night and let me tell you I'm hooked. I love your reaction the most because it's authentic and you just let yourself go. I was in tears and felt something throughout the end of her performance. I felt the pain in the most beautiful way. Then I research her life to found that how she discovered singing was as a therapy because she was massively abused by her biological mother and abandoned. She would later be adopted from an orphanage at age 5. So it's no surprise that there is some pain there. But the beautiful thing is she takes her darkness and converts it to light. I mean what an artist. It's simply mesmerizing and beautiful and unforgettable. Those lucky people in the audience who got to see this live. I'm sure they walked out feeling some type of way. I cannot wait to see what else this beautiful woman puts out. I'm grateful for the power she has within herself to cast her deamons and turn them into an angelic voice and share it with the world.

This was a very inspiring commentary on this beautiful singer. Far beyond the technical (which for a non-singer but physician so some expert in anatomy) but also just in life! It made me happier to have watched this video. Thank you!
