Will there be a yearly subscription and online support like in discord so that we can communicate effectively and always stay up to date in the market? The course fee of $500++ is very affordable, but most importantly is having the market/stock update/discussion after that.

I’m 70 years old and a pensioner. Generally I invest in REITs and Business Trust and companies that gives dividends on a regular basis. I have 24 companies and I am trying to par it down to below 20 so that I can monitor it better. Overall dividend is about 5.5 to 6 % dividend

Out of his 25 picks, no banks at all? Banks are the backbone of all SGX div stocks imo. Im curious how did he choose the 25 stocks to invest in...
@david888a3 ай бұрын
If I will to guess, he is in construction therefore has lots of REITS n land development companies. I agree,no Sg banks is a surprise to me too. Good to sell the losers ,hope it’s not a substantial sums n reinvest the capital in banks. Keep the reits ,it will recover eventually.
@Bulruninvests3 ай бұрын
He probably entered the market recently. Since now i/r is going to cut. Entering into ir sensitives like reits is a better play. Banks are cyclical and are opposite to reits. Both are interest rate sensitive plays.
@jtgoinvest26873 ай бұрын
I feel sympathy to this investor for the large losses and he must have worked very hard (construction industry) to accumulate his savings. I would recommend him to consider buying the 3 big SG bank stocks which has good dividend price appreciation over time. If he wish to invest in US, he may consider S&P 500 etf and Technology etf (rather than individual stocks) using dollar cost averaging approach if he doesn't have the finance background. Suggest don't divest all his current losing stocks at the same time. Good to monitor for some upside and divest over a period of time. Wish him all the best! Take care!
@schuachua16393 ай бұрын
The dude is from the construction industry, which explains the number of construction/developer companies in his portfolio. He is in the industry and understands the vibe, easy for him to understand. Did you guys consider this when you trim his portfolio and say he does not have time to monitor 25 stocks?
@TheFifthPersonChannel3 ай бұрын
His stated goal is to build a dividend portfolio. If a property developer does not pay a stable dividend, then it does not match his investment goal.
@andrewtan28943 ай бұрын
Yes. Likely the reason why he bought into the construction stocks. He's probably more familiar with the industry better.

I have been following much of your videos. This is one of those very informative ones. Would love to see more of such videos. I have a question on the switching process. For the bad stocks identified, should the person sell away the bad stock immediately disregarding the price OR wait for a certain trigger? From what I hear at 30:40 and 31:08, timing is all important for SG and HK stocks and even more so for dividend stocks. Does it then mean that the person should wait and time the entry instead of quickly switch out to the good stocks as identified in 26:42-28:09? Could you help to clarify the switching approach or guideline.
@TheFifthPersonChannel3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching our videos! You can switch immediately to a higher quality stock if the price is right. If not, you also have the option to liquidate and park the money in risk-free SSBs -- which pay 3.3% right now -- while waiting for the right opportunity.

People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

Suggest buy the top 3 SG banks. For US market, suggest buy S&P 500 etf and Technology etf (using Dollar Cost Averaging Approach) considering that he may not have much finance background. This should be prudent considering his background and if he is taking a longer term horizon. For his consideration and take care.

YZJ Financial at the current price is giving ~6% dividend yield though (Its in the red now due to the price he entered) Switching to SG banks at this price/time, might mean more capital losses esp if the Fed decides to cut rates or the economy crashes if Fed hold the rates up too long other than that, a really good video! good job

thanks so much for the wonderful analysis! wanted to ask why do you look at allocation from a cost basis rather than from the current market value basis? and should I be rebalancing my portfolio / planning my asset allocation from a cost basis instead of from a market value basis?

Thanks! We show both allocations using both cost and market value. We list the former to show how the investor initially allocated his funds to gain some insight into his decision making. You use market value when rebalancing your portfolio.

I bought a infrastructure/engineering stock at $55 per share a long while ago n it was trading decently but the company’s executives were found guilty of briberies n the stock crashed to $33. It’s a good company n held it n now it recovered to $57,I didn’t DCA for I used the fund to buy a logistic company for $28,now it’s $220 per share. He can start by buying PEPSI. It is down quite a fair bit while the correction is excessive. Pepsi is a boring stock with good fundamentals and gives dividend. He can even try getting the shares by selling cash secured puts, but this is only possible if he has the relevant knowledge to trade options.
