I sometimes wonder if Gouken knew that Gotetsu wanted Akuma to kill and succeed him? Based on the style, it would seem that you can either embrace the dark Hado or reject it. That in mind, Ryu should have turned to the dark Hado, defeated Akuma, and replaced him, with Ken following after Gouken, maintaining the same rivalry as the two brothers before them, which would makes sense. Capcom buried this potential story because they were making up the story as the game got more popular. They don't even know how to close out the story like Tekken did with Heihachi and Kazuya or Mortal Kombat with Liu Kang and Shao Kahn and Scorpion and Subzero. Capcom could use some new creative writers to improve the storyline and conclude dead end stories like Vega, Balrog, Sagat etc. It's a shame because in the right hands, Street Fighter could be way better than it is. The whole World Tour and Mad Gear angle isn't looking too good right now either, but I digress.

In order to fix this dumpster fire of a story(due to continuity issues and making it up on the fly) the only thing that can be done is a reboot. They would then need to go back further than many fans would be willing to tolerate, since many of their beloved characters wouldn't possibly even be born. Ansatuken is literally any art designed to kill even Gen practiced a form of Ansatsuken. So we are talking pre dating, even Goutetsu. Possibly the only individuals who could be around might be Oro, a form of Bison(if you wanna go the whole Dracula/immortality angle), and a practioner of Bushin-Ryu. Then you have to do some type of cheesy ancestral link to the current gen/known characters. MK has the luxury of being wrapped in mystical aspects, but other than the concept of Hadou doing a timeline reboot couldn't involve Sorcery it be seen as a gag at best. That's not to say a story couldn't be written, look how the community reacts when beloved characters aren't included. Capcom is stuck in a tough spot, im sure they've had folks on their team who want a more engrossing story but they nuked the main roster before(Thrid strike) and folks had fits when they game first came out. It damn near took a whole other game of SF4 for folks to accept the new characters and that was only because their beloved New warriors were included.

Gouki is a character that I first heard of in XMen COTA back in 94 from the arcade cabinet in a laundromat. He may have embraced the Satsui No Hadou yet he doesnt enjoy killing weak or sick opponents nor opponents that are not ready. In the SFA2 gold ending he talks how hes faced many opponents and that he wanted to die, but earth has changed his mind and he yearns for the day he can die to a strong and worthy opponent (he gets upset when he wins as the opponent that lost to him hasnt beaten him). Gouki when defeating M.Bison called the psycho drive "usepess toy" (low key saying M.Bison is a coward). Gouki just yearns for the day someone worthy will end him and that is that I suppose.

In Capcom vs SNK 2 when Akuma uses Shungokusatsu on Rugal it doesn't say or show Rugal grabbing Akuma by the chest to give him his Dark power. Rugal is on the ground lying down and says to Akuma "I give you this Dark power", before losing consciousness or dies. The part showed when Rugal is holding Akuma only happens when Rugal defeats Akuma. It also doesn't state that Akuma died when he is defeated by Rugal. I can't see these as facts only theory cause Capcom did a bad job of the story on that game.

There's a game called Capcom vs SNK 2 were 2 characters you will fight. Akuma kill Rugal and transform into Shin Akuma. And the other one is Rugal kill Akuma and he become God Rugal. However, after you defeat God Rugal, he will be overwhelmed by the Hado power, which creates an entirely new entity.

Gouken is potentially an assassin himself and came from a long line of assassins as his martial arts is not Shotokan but actually Ansatsuken or Assassin's Fists. Akuma is only using Ansatsuken to its logical course albeit illegal act of homicide. It's only murder if its premeditated, despite the boringly named "Murderous Intent" that drives him.

I grew up in the 80's , was playing street fighter before any other fighting game ...SNK fighting games was on another level when I first got introduced to "Art of Fighting" , Fatal Fury" and King of Fighters, the game mechanics and power levels , skills was far above street fighter. Hell..... the first Art of fighting game which I played ...you could charge and power up for a super like dragon balls fihhters. Do your research bro. Street fighter could not compare .
