#FILIPINACODEBOOK #DATINGAFILIPINA #PHILIPPINESWOMEN ‪@TheFilipinaPea‬
What Filipinas say vs. what they mean can take the form of dating advice for men dating a Filipina, who all want to know why women talk in code. When dating a Filipina, the language barrier, tampo, and the challenges of LDR relationships can give interracial couples problems, and leave the men asking "why don't girls say what they mean"?
Things women say and what they really mean, when it comes to Philippines women, can make dating an Asian woman a real adventure! Fortunately, there's a code book for do's and donts when dating a Filipina, that can explain what your Filipina says vs. what she means.

While I'm watching this I just got a text telling me to not forget the ten bottles of water. I send her a list of things she needs to buy when she goes to the city so she won't forget. Lol. She always asks if I took my medicine everyday. And what did I bring for lunch and what will I make for dinner. Did I put the chickens away? If I ask her how her day was I always get the same response. Just ok.

As an American guy married to a Filipina for 13 years I can say I’ve learned a lot. And as I’ve been with her for so long we have both adapted and accept each other for who we are. It’s just hard in the beginning until you begin to relax and be confident in your relationship. Great info as always pea 👍

Once again, you are so "on target" Pea! This video should be required viewing by all foreigners. I have experienced every scenario you discussed here, and it was a steep and costly, confusing and sometimes painful learning curve! But once you crack the code, you can apply it in every relationship you encounter here..personal, social,even business dealings. And again your presentation is so professional and entertaining!!

Foreigners will try hard to adapt to Filipino culture. But, at the same time, it's also the Filipina's responsibility to also adapt to your foreigner's culture as well. This is not a one way street and the "tampo" treatment, if it goes on for too long, will only end in travesty for the relationship.

The same rules apply, in general, to Chinese and I suspect to all SE Asian cultures. My ex-wife is Chinese and I was often amused when she, her son, or her friends said "yes" to an Australian who assumed it meant, "yes". I learned that all it means is "Yes, I heard you make a sound, and I have learned that if I say 'yes', you will stop talking eventually, and I can get on with my life."
@prepperjonpnw6482
@prepperjonpnw6482 Жыл бұрын
Ex-wife? Would you say bringing her to Australia (the west) contributed to your marriage ending? I’m asking because I’ve been hearing that if you marry a Filipina don’t bring her home to the west. Instead you should stay in the Philippines.

I've already had that talk with my Filipina ldr about tampo. I told her the second time that it was a game that I wasn't going to play! If she has a problem she better state it so we can resolve it. After her trying to ignore me after I repeatedly called her, I calmly told her that there would be no relationship if she kept doing it. After 2 days of no calls she was calling and begging for me to forgive her.
@hansreynders6853
@hansreynders6853 3 жыл бұрын
In short, you don't accept who she is. Seems to me a flawed basis to build your relationship. "Accept me who I am" has a broad meaning for a Filipino and means also that she doesn't like you to "change" her.

Playing along with temper tantrums or putting up with deceit is not a good way to build a relationship. A lot of bad behaviors are being excused as "Filipino culture." I am sure that a Filipina would not want us behaving the way that they sometimes do and call it "American culture."

Great video miss Pea. After all these years I’m still dealing with the code book. Problem is when I think I have it figured out it changes. The one thing that never changes is never look at another woman or let another woman flirt with you. I guarantee you even if she is not around that other woman will tell on you. But filipinas are not the only ones with a code book. Maybe it’s a woman thing.

I've been distance dating a Filipina for a year and a half, and I've noticed a number of these behaviors in her. I'm happy to say I correctly guessed the subtext in most of the situations, but I'm grateful for learning things like what "fancy" means to people there, because I never would have known otherwise. Edit: Also, you look good in that police outfit 🙂 Not as good as my Filipina would, though. Her hair is longer, and she's taller than you are, and she has a straighter nose. (Does that pass the test?)

This was a great episode Pea! It does clarify some things I've run into during our time together. She hates it when I ask who she's chatting with or so. "Are you checking on me?" But when I get a message from some random person she'll ask "who's that?" It's so funny because she says she not the jealous type... 🤣🤣 One thing I am grateful for is that she learned how to say no in the 24 years she's lived here in the Netherlands. She practices it on me daily! 😂🤣

Pea, where the hell were you when I met my Filipina ten years ago, or even 8 years ago when we got married? Most of these situations and codes have happened and I had to learn the hard way. Hardest for me to learn, and still an occasional problem, is the "last question is all she saw"... and worse, I'll go to the trouble of sending multiple messages of things I'm working on and asking questions, but all are ignored except the last one. I still screw that one up all the time, but at least when she doesn't see them I have an understanding of the reason, even though it doesn't make sense. Keep teaching Pea, I'm all ears.

It's crazy at times, but if you think about it, it's a great way of "courting"... Making it through the "She's a perfect angel" stage that all stupid creatures (men) go through is the first step... But, if you can suffer through the ensuing work, frustration, acceptance, and the learning process of cohabitating with her while she's dealt with the same confusion brought on by our western traits without wanting to jump in front of a Jeepney, and you STILL love the hell out of her after all of that... There's a pretty good chance that you've found the one. 😉

As for myself and most other men I know reading isn’t high on our priority list especially when it involves reading between lines. Relationship either find a balance between both parties involved or get over inflated by issues and burst. Both people must work together to communicate and find understanding. So Filipina’s can’t put people from outside their culture into their “it’s always worked before” and that’s how it will be just as a foreigner can’t expect someone from another culture to understand them implicitly because that’s how it is back home. We can have miss communication with people we have known for years so expectations of completely understanding and or reading someone from another world, without a bit of work, is expecting a lot.

"Even with the code book, sometimes you just have to read between the lines." That especially applies when your significant other is flashing you her extended index finger, middle finger, and ring finger - with her thumb and her pinky finger curled up...

Hey Pea, another great video, very useful knowing the "code", I now understand my Filipina a little better thanks to your explanations. Your delivery is skilful and polished yet down to earth, and very witty. Humor and the subtleties of language between cultures are hard , sometimes almost impossible to translate, but you do an extremely impressive job at it!

Well Pea as i was watching this video i can't stop laughing coz i really am like that specially when im mad or jealous i would divert what i meant to say instead of stopping him from talking with friends while im hanging on i would say go on and keep on talking to your friends i'll be fine but after that he would not hear a word from me😂🤪🤪

Indecently, this communication challenge pails in comparison to talking with most American women. Fundamentally the lack of understanding, trust and sincerity is not only sad but perpetuated by those with distorted social agendas. Both female and male participate. Perhaps historically prevalent in all cultures but the U.S. has socially, taken it to a level on steroids! Wealth has its unseen costs. If and when you get to the U.S. I think you will be shocked!

I was reading between the lines of a very serious subject just yesterday. My fiancée was behaving just as you suggested she would. I know better and addressed the topic in detail to ensure communication is complete. Salamat for your guidance with all of the advice you share. You are wise beyond your years. It is helpful to know that I'm not crazy and just dealing with another culture that I have to learn to know and understand. I encourage others to subscribe because much of what you share has helped me greatly.

If your serious about finding a Filipina find one that is mature and smart. After your together for a wile she will read you like a cheap novel they are masters at reading your unspoken responses. You can be guilty without saying a word your facial expressions tell her everything. If your a younger guy there are many Filipinas in the west already especially in hospitals and nursing homes as many are nurses. Filipinas aren't perfect but are probably as good as it gets, and they are so damn cute their hard to resist.
