When I first saw Konkana Sen Sharma, all those years ago, I remember thinking, "She's not as pretty as her mother is." By the time I finished watching 'Mr and Mrs Iyer', I'd completely forgotten about her looks; her talent surpassed any preconceived notion I might have had about 'beauty'. Since then, I've followed her career closely, watching most films just to watch her (seemingly) effortless performances. Each time, whatever the length of her role, I have been mesmerized. Now, older (and hopefully, a little wiser), I also find her immensely beautiful - mainly because she's so unpretentious and 'real'. Besides, she (like Vidya Balan) always makes me smile when I hear her talk. Thank you, Anupama - this was such a treat. Edited to add: If there's really a petition around to ask her to direct again, please let me know - I'll sign it like a shot!

I love the way Konkana can meticulously analyze herself, her profession, every thought is so vigorously fleshed out, each word a nugget of information and her choice of vocabulary is so spot on. Konkana is so honest, intelligent, articulate and down to earth. It is obvious that she is well read, is her own person and does not seek external validation.

I first discovered the entity called Konkona SenSharma back in 2009, when I watched Luck By Chance and Wake Up Sid back-to-back on cable TV. Sure, they were hyped around the stars at the centre, Farhan and Ranbir respectively, but without Koko, none of the films would have had the soul they ended up having. Then of course, I discovered her other accomplishments in retrospect. Glad we have her. And damn lucky, too.

I love performances from Tabu, Vidya, Shefali, Konkana, Shabana, and Radhika as I really wait to see when their movies or other work comes out .. These are followed by works of Nimrat Kaur, Rajshri, Rasika, Tillotama, Divya Dutta. These women and their portrayals are so amazing and diverse. They represent so much of variation of what indian women can be through their different characters. Fell in love with Konkona when I saw Mr and Mrs Iyer, Followed by 15 park avenue .

FC always talks about the star system in the movie industry but there's one now in the OTT space too and in the media as well. A show like Kohhra deserved the kind of promotion Lust stories got but most prominent media channels, including Film Companion did not bother to interview the team. It's only after it became a hit that Surrinder Vicky ji was interviewed. Two years back the absolute A listers were interviewed by AC and rest by Sneha but now even Sneha filters the shows based on the actors starring in it.

She's very much of a Bengali as much as an educated (not just degrees but mentally educated) Indian woman. I would ask people to watch her debut movie when she was in her teens back in year 2000... It's a Bengali film "Ek je ache Konya"/ translation (There is this young woman )... A film Directed by her mother, she played the role of a obsessive girl with mental issues getting fixated upon certain strangers who she comes across.. The character was creepy and she played it with such power... My god. Give it a watch.

Anu saw The Rapist?! Was waiting for her feedback on this complex, polarising film!! It was such a rivetting film, that pierced through my psyche, left me VERY uncomfortable but also in awe of how much ground they covered! Im now at that stage in life where i actively avoid rape based movies and almost avoided this one as it rained alot the day I had to catch trains to see it, plus Konkona and Aparna weren't going to make it for the Q&A, but then felt there must be something in this movie, why would Aparna make a film called The Rapist with Koko for no substantial reason. Was NOT prepared for it. Want to discuss further but feel others need to see it, 1st. Also, Anu - u mentioned a film NO ONE EVER does: YHTKHota!!!!! I LOVED THAT MOVIE!!! And felt so bad that people didn't see it! So to hear u mention the name gave dollops of khushi ❤

She has one of the most diverse roles, true. Her role in Ajeeb Dastaan as dalit is so so good and her directorial debut in Gunj is hands down, one of the best hindi films I've seen. Even her latest experimental segment in Lust Stories 2 with Tilotoma was interesting to say the least. But, funny I remember really disliking her in Aaja Nachle, but guess that was the director fault. She was soooo bad there lol
