[Intellytech] Just wanted to point out a couple of things. We did send the Mega-8FC (rgbww) for review. We found it strange that the review is done as if it’s the bi color only Mega-8 and none of the rgbww features were mentioned in the comparison / pros and con section. Especially since G/M tint is specifically mentioned and the light that we sent has G/M tint control built into the light. The second thing is the photometrics with softbox being posted are a lot lower than the data we have. We did send the optional 1 stop diffuser with this light in addition to the 1/2 stop diffuser that is included. It seems that the photometric data being posted is with the much stronger 1 stop diffuser which cuts out a lot of light compared to the standard 1/2 stop diffuser. With the 1/2 stop the photometrics should be noticeably brighter.

Hey team, I wish you had emailed me, from speaking to your team, they said the output specs were the same across both the RGBWW and the Bi color are the same. if that is true measuring the non coloured options on the light should be fine, we also explained why we didn't bring up the RGBWW features as we wanted to compare the light at the closest price point and this is the light we had on hand. With that together, the comparison is more than fair. in terms of the diffusion material, its been a while so its possible we made that mistake, with good faith, ill pin your comment here and retest the output of the light, if it turns out we got it wrong we will make a correction.

their isn't a clear answer. best we can do is recommend you spend a little more and get the RGB intellytech, having RGB makes the shortcomings worth it.

such a great review !! If Godox fix this small issue in a Mk2 version, it would be awesome ! Also a RGB version would be huge, I rent the Amaran f22c a lot of times here in Brasil and is super nice, but a bigger version would be even better. I feel the pain when you say it's one stop brighter where you guys live, we also suffer with that lol , but the sunny days are awesome when you don't have to work and can go outside :)

Great comparison, super thorough. Thanks! Did you guys test them with latest firmware? My godox measures even brighter and more accurate across color range after update. What was your solution for stripped threads in the frame, send it back?

The f400bi as a key light for documentary interviews, a good idea or is it better to use a point source light + softbox instead?

their isnt a better here, it comes down to preference and speed. i love these pannel lights over a COB with a softbox because they don't take up as much space but can produce a similar amount of softness. i think that would be a big benefit for docos when you don't always know where you are filming.

An aluminum blade frame would never be able to hold the godox up if you plan to tilt it at all. It’d bend after a single use especially if you’re tilting it close to horizontal.
