nice tutorial: home made and also the plugin way. Is it possible, in motion to put the map on a more rounded surface to mimic the earth shape and add some depth in the animation?
@TheFinalCutBro2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! You might have some luck if you dig into the distortion filters in Motion. They have a “sphere” filter and a “fisheye” filter that might work for you! Also a “tiny world” filter. Might be worth playing around with some of those!

Thank's for this awesome video! That was exactly what I was looking for! Just one question... The camera seems to zoom in a bit too far into the rectangle. It's no big deal but it would be awesome to know how to fix this!
@TheFinalCutBro2 жыл бұрын
Hey Johannes, appreciate you watching! There are some “framing offset” options within the framing parameter. You could set your offset to be a bit further back from the rectangle, and that should hopefully help!

Awesome tutorial!! Well done! I'm looking for something a little different. I want to create an animation travel path using road maps. I want to be able to follow the roads precisely with curves and so forth. I do have FCPX along with a 16" MacBook Pro M1 Max. Do you know of a great way of doing this? Thanks again for your awesome tutorial. Happy New Year to you and yours!! 🥳👍😊
@TheFinalCutBro2 жыл бұрын
Hey Rapa! Thanks for watching. You could use the pen tool to draw lines on the roads. It might take some time depending on the complexity of the roads, but then once you have the road outlined, you can go up to the behaviors menu. There is a "write on" behavior under shape, that can animate the line being drawn on really quickly for you. And I believe you can set the speed and such all within the parameters menu on the left. Hope that helps! Apologize for the delayed response to your Q.

please anyone that knows what I did wrong help....I cannot figure out how the text stuck to the spot on the map for him and for me it follows the camera to the end point
@TheFinalCutBro3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! My best guess is that your text managed to have the 3D aspect disabled. If you select your text, in the layers panel you’ll see a small button with some rectangles in different sizes on the right side. If you click that, it will turn into several different planes stacked on each other. That will mean they are in 3D then! Hope that makes sense! It’s a little hard to explain without photos.

Yes you can! They have drop zones, so you can import your own images, and it will apply the animation accordingly!

@TheFinalCutBro3 жыл бұрын
Definitely a great method! The only downside being, you would have to motion track your animations on to your video rather than just building it all together. Also Google has a pretty strict stance on filming Google Earth for commercial use. So you wouldn't be able to use that method for a paid project. But still super clever!
