Yes....and a 3" barrel with night sights. What better .38 Special revolver for "self defense/house protection/concealed carry." Ideal for keeping loaded next to the bed in a nightstand, bureau drawer, or dresser. Yet also practical for hunting small game: rabbit, squirrel, and grouse, for the campfire skillet. The .38 Special 148 grain lead target wadcutter, next to a .22 or .32, is perhaps the best load for hunting small game, and likewise for dispatching vermin such as racoon, skunk, possum, etc. Same for butchering livestock such as cattle, with a head shot. For rattlesnakes CCI's classic .38 Special or "shot load": No. 9 shot, for up close, yet just outside striking distance. And finally as a companion handgun for the outdoorsman/sportsman at a "kit/trail, camp" gun. Especially for fishing, camping, hiking, hunting season: deer and elk to supplement a rifle, and perhaps even for a long haul trucker, hay hauler, or livestock/cattle truck driver. Actually a .357 Magnum would even be more versatile as they will chamber and fire .38 Special ammo. James A. "Jim" Farmer Klamath County, Oregon Long Live The State of Oregon!

I would certainly consider a Taurus if I needed another firearm- I have had several snubbies from them in the past and they functioned perfectly and felt very solid in the hand. I am not sure how much difference the barrel length will make here but for those who want it, cheers. , I would probably go with the shorter one, myself, since it would hopefully be used as either a backup or a generally close range item, but either way, thanks for posting this.
