The window weights are also called sash weights. They are a counter balance to help open the window and keep it open without a prop-stick. The window has a groove cut in each side to accommodate a sash line, usually a 3/8" rope. The rope is knotted at the bottom of the window, run up between the window and the sash to a pulley inset at the top. The rope then runs through the pulley down to the weights in a gap between the window and the framing. The weights can be doubled up or broken to get the proper weight. There is a hidden access panel that unscrews incase the rope breaks. Hope this helps. I've worked on them 36+/- years!

The round thing with the 4 prongs. I think is a distributor capital model, a or model T4 cylinder. The leg is off of a cast iron bathtuh and the long grenade. Looking thing is an armature out of an electric motor possibly a starter.

Owen is so ADORABLE!❤ BTW, that round thing you found at 5:30 is actually a roller bearing. You can tell by the grooves, or 'raceways' as they're called. That "pen" your little man Owen found looked to be a ratchet wrench extender. That fire pit thing you found almost looks like an old roman shield LOL! That thing you found at 13:00 looks to be a motor drive shaft, like the one that would connect to a transmission (which is where those gears might be coming from). That glass thing you found at 19:41 could either be the cover for a light or something called a bell jar, which is kinda like what the Beast kept the Magic Rose under in Beauty and the Beast. All the legs and handles you've found here makes me think you are sitting above the metal remains of wooden furniture!

Your ceramic on a nail was probably to an electric fence insulator there's another piece of that porcelain somewhere and wire went between him and then nailed to a wooden post and your window weights ran alongside the window sash they had a rope attached to it and it was attached to the top of the window and wait hung down alongside the window and went down the wall inside the wall counterbalance for the weight of the window to make it easier to lift

Looks like there was an automotive repair shop at that site at one time. that thing you said was a pipe wrench was actually a Ford Wrench it used to be shipped with old model A's and some of the old ford trucks. Might have been a shop- there that burned down and they just pushed the remains into the river.

In old house windows there was a pulley on top with a rope that went into the walls. The window weights were a counter weight to keep windows open. The weight was actually in the wall. You wouldn't see them.
