That cylinder is actually the resonator. It’s part of a vehicle’s exhaust system. No2 is nitrous oxide. It’s for quick cooling so the lid has a handle with a hook to hang something into a cylinder

You found a rifle, and judging by the sites it's a military rifle. And for future reference if you can't fit a shotgun shell down the barrel , it's a rifle. After taking a better look I'm pretty sure it's from the 1940's. Which means it could be from WW2🤞

That's a 22 rifle. Check the butt plate to see if it says the manufacture's name on it. Sometimes they say Winchester or marlin, etc... The rear sight is a target sight. Mossberg used sights like that. Looks like a Remington, but it's hard to tell.

Excellent finds today Tyler. That square piece of metal, painted white, is from a very old fridge. The rifle is a single shot, bolt action 22 caliber. I had one like it over 40 years ago. Have a great day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️🛠🔩🧲.

In the 1800"s most of the riverside factories contained boilers. These boilers were poorly maintained and tended to explode. When they did, the explosion would take out part ( or all) of the factory. The machinery would be blown apart and some of the pieces would land in the river. That is why I think you keep finding pieces of machinery!!!!!!!

The rifle is a .22 target rifle due to the rear sights. Probably a single shot. Trigger guard is missing. Looks like an old Remington rifle.

Hope you get to the lure site, again soon ....that clevise-chain piece is for rigging ... Also, you should buy a side scanning depth finder, to see bigger items, etc ....Plus,can a gunsmith retool an old rifle like that? Those shovel heads are off of old shovels that people used like dust pans, coal shovels, and garbage truck shovels. Now, that you bought your farm, do you store metal until prices rise ? Love that old logging spike !

The rifle is an M1903. It was mainly used by the American marine back in the 1920-1950’s. The ammunition is loaded from the top in rows of 6 bullets. Really cool find🤪

If you put clamp shells in an old blender and crush them like oyster shells it makes chicken egg shells stronger and chickens use the shells for digestion

The item you found that said inlet / bottom is a resonator to a exhaust system. Inlet means to catalytic converter, then outlet to exhaust pipe.
