Is Jell-O Chicken Still a Relevant Fishing Bait?

I was using a little bigger chucks 1” cubes and caught a lot of Channel and Blue cat from 1 pounders to 36.5 pound blue off of it. Same thing, I got caught up with this bait and do the strawberry jello, 2 tablespoons of garlic powder, 2 teaspoon of Anise oil with 1-1.5 pounds of chicken breast or thighs… and it just works… I really don’t know why, but I never been skunked on the Brazos river on the north side of Lake Whitney in Texas… I cannot speak for city ponds and lakes…. Great video… I was thinking people just stopped talking about this for bait

You need to do cherry jello chicken livers. Mix the dry mix with the blood and the livers and let it solidify in a cooler or fridge.

I don't know if it will work in your area but in Washington area there isn't a fish that can refuse Lemon Joy dish soap on the bait/ lures. It works on salmon, sturgeon, cats, trout, panfish and any other in the area. I am interested in knowing if it works there. I am planning a trip to Az. in the near future.

Very Interesting! Lemon Joy (dishwashing liquid) is a detergent not a soap. Detergents are synthetic and made from petroleum. Maybe that's why WD-40 is ALLEGEDLY effective. Soap is made from natural ingredients like vegetable oils and animal fats. I heard people using Zote soap and it being very effective. People cut up bars of that stuff and put it on the hook and catch catfish.

It typically only works at ponds and lakes. I caught one catfish on the river with it i have a video on my channel. But most people use strawberry kool aid, i add a little vanilla extract as well catfish love the alcohol

I know you go fishing with Porter. I mentioned to him the other day you guys need to try Gulf of Mexico shrimp. I'd get them In Minnesota. My biggest flat head from the Minnesota River was 61 pounds. My biggest blue cat was 58 pounds out of the Red River between Minnesota and North and South Dakota. We have caught small mouth bass, large mouth bass, walleyes, northern pike,, and cat fish. Carolina rig. Or on a bodder. I've gone with friends with 35 pounds of shrimp. Thinking if the fish don't bite we will have a shrimp cook out. We have never had a shrimp out. Don't purchase frozen. 🍤 Always buy fresh.

@@TheFishinMagician20 , when 5 people can catch 2,000 fish in 3 days it's rather inexpensive. And 1,000 of them are catfish that weight 25 to 60 pounds. Walleyes average 4 pounds go up to 8. The pike are 5 to 15 pounds. And 5 pound bass consistently. Get the smallest whole shrimp you can find. For this area and the size of fish you will encounter It will be worth it. When you go on the big resivours use the biggest you can find. 14 to 16 inches. Phoenix has to have a large Asian market. You will be absolutely surprised the selection these markets bring to your community. The one I would go to in Minnesota you could sell your catfish to them. You could purchase most any healthy native fish of Minnesota. This is on the Red River of the north. North and South Dakota border to Canada.

I use chicken all the time I don't even flavor it and don't always use breast use the cheaper everything from blue gill to bass catfish you name it I have caught. Catfish bite it more then others. Don't need a flavoring. Only problem I have is if turtles find you first you are done lol! Try not flavoring it I just cut it up before I go but it in bags in a cooler so it dont get to mushey otherwise the bite off to easy .Take sanitizer to use afterwards use each time you touch that chicken. Hot dogs work great also

It still works, but the Jell-O is just the gimmick part to it. Plain chicken works just as good. You don’t need to add Jell-O or Kool-Aid to it. There’s a guy on KZbin that did a one year experiment with it and the plain chicken caught a little bit more than Jell-O chicken.
