Fishing the old car tomorrow, will start fishing at least once a week again as a mental health medicine, works like a charm, and I love the sound of the waves and the smell of pier. I learn something from every video you put out. Last video I saw those "foam reels" with your tackle wound around it when you opend the tacklebox. Thought that was a gorgeous idea! This video I couldn't help but notice how much you pay attention to your setup (always checking back at the rods.) You could see it was the fish that was important and the camera is just also there. I also love how much patience you have with the bites. I, being an amateur, tries to set the hook every time the rod slightly vibrates. I guess I will have to change that. Love your channel. Happy new year and may your channel *way more* than just double this year. God bless.

That is one of the hardest things to develop in fishing. Is how to sit on your hands when you get an “interest” bite. Learning what different bites indicate. Some are just a fish finding and exploring the bait. Others are “FISH ON”!!! That’s a difficult thing to learn. 😊👍🏻

I must confess I’ve always used bent nosed long forceps for Pike. But if you find a better way I’m glad to hear it. 😊👍🏻

@@TheFishLocker yeah so do I but if its deep hooked I might try to turn the hook up the gills and then take it out with forceps. Won't work in every situation but if it works on 1 fish I'd be happy. I Don't normally deep hook them anyway

I love your posts. I love the shores. I am a freshwater fisherman, I have done some saltwater fishing. (not as often as I would like too.) Great stuff, keep up the good work.

Great unhooking technique, when done carefully it's a great way of unhooking flatties. I used to see scores of palm sized flat fish dead under Bournemouth pier when spearfishing as many anglers just wiggle the hook out with a high risk of puncturing the heart in flat fish. Circle hooks can reduce the risk of a deep hook, but I find your bite to hook up ratio drops.

Spot on Danny. Circle hooks for flatfish just are not as effective. And I have seen so so many people deep hook flatfish and either panic and cut it off or kill the fish in an attempt to disgorge it. Hopefully this will help.

John, you're like my son. Typical engineer. Ooooooooo, thats clever/cool/interesting I'll get it. That 2nd flattie you released really showed their amazingly camouflage 😁

Incredible how much their colouration can vary isn’t it. 😊👍🏻

Great video and nice location 👍 I was thinking of buying the green Penn rod but ended up with the blue, lovely rods to use.

Thank you for highlighting good hook removal techniques. Hook extraction tools should be in every anglers tackle box. Best wishes.

It’s a very simple method for something that I know a lot of anglers have difficulty with. I hope the video helps. 😊👍🏻

Like I’ve said, don’t quote me on the exact figure as I now think it was the other way round. 40% not 60%. But it was higher than I thought when I read it.
