Big Apple Snail Laying Eggs! - (Close Up)

My Big Apple Snail (Snail Mega!) is laying eggs! As a matter of fact I am now finding lots of egg clusters in my aquaponic system so it is time to build the Apple Snail egg hatchery:) That will be on a video coming soon! If you guys want some of Snail Mega's babies let me know and maybe we can work something out. Snail Mega is the biggest apple snail I have ever seen and I got them from someone that kept them outside here in Ca over winter. Do any of you have any aquatic snails that you want to share? I live on the Inter Coastal Waterway in South Carolina. I found a snail the size of my fist and put in my outdoor minnow tank. Researching, I learned that it’s a Canyon Apple Snail, an invasive species . Voracious eaters , they eat shoreline plants contributing to erosion. Now I see them almost every day.

The way those eggs traveled up to the pile is the same way your lungs evacuate debris. You have little fibers that wiggle and push material to the desired location. For your lungs it pushed the mucus up to your throat to where you cab l can clear it out

My mystery snail laid her 2nd set of eggs 4 clutches the first time and now 4 clutches again. The first one didnt make it sadly I didnt know what to do, but now I have them in their own place we have 3 baby snails as of today. Thank you for making this video. I didnt get to see her lay them so I wasnt sure how they did it. (I know different type of snails) but still really cool to watch. Hope u got a few baby snails as well. I know I'm excited for mine

Is she getting a constant and plentiful food source? I know nothing about snail development but those white-ish ridges look similar to something that happens in human nails if you don't get enough nutrients for an extended period of time.

you need to give your snail some calcium powder because it's shell is getting weak you can tell because of the lines at the front of its shell ☺

It flooded and those damned things got in my pond. Their an invasive species here in South Carolina. I found one apple snail the size of a softball it was the grand daddy of them all lol. Bad things is, nothing preys on them here, their eggs are toxic and they compete with the little fish for food. they’ll eventually take over your pond. You have no choice but to drain your pond or flood your pond and try to gather all the eggs snails you can.
