@rrowell4163
@rrowell4163 4 жыл бұрын
Dexta daps is a example of a really talented artist that really needed guidance He has got a great rnb voice but his lyrical content is too explicit & his live stage performances leaves a lot to be desired. Shaggy would have been a good influence to help to take his career to the next level .Also today nearly every new dance artist needs auto tune because they singing ability is below par & they also need to work on their lyrically content which has become very sleazy That's why today's dancehall songs have a short shelf life & there is a high turnover of dancehall artists .
@rootzandbranches4656
@rootzandbranches4656 4 жыл бұрын
@@rrowell4163 Dexta Daps has to be one of the most overrated 'artist' I've ever heard. Pure foolishness and I can sing about as good as him. Confusion inna Babylon, Confusion inna Dancehall. The bar has been set too low and Dexta Dap is still under the bar by a foot.
@rrowell4163
@rrowell4163 4 жыл бұрын
Having talent & ratings is too different things .Overating or underating is not my concern .My point is not about ratings it's about talent not always being enough .He possibly needed some wise guidance early on to steer his career in the right direction with better lyrical content & better musical production & professional. stages performance .eg I am not a fan of a artist performing onstage & 10 man loitering on stage ,it looks shabby .Only the artist or the DJ or the musicians should be on stage

Look pon Reggaeton. Them use the same Dem Bow riddim throughout the years, yet them ah mash down the place. Meanwhile, them producers in Jamaica ah build a whole bag a fukry that nobody out a Jamaica wan hear. Reggaeton and Afrobeats have surpassed Dancehall on so many fronts. They're now leading global genres. Popcaan should know why he wasn't nominated. You can't blame the Grammys committee for not nominating you under Reggae when your music doesn't fit the criteria. Trap is not Reggae. It's a subgenre of rap.

Dancehall and reggae audience not big who are we to choose who the market runs with...many black dancehall artiste could have reached further if they had better/more professional management...terror fabulous was invited to perform on the Superbowl in the 90's and turned it down....louie culture said this.

Shaggy has never been and will never be a Dancehall artiste. He is too much of a normal level headed human being ...and most of all rich. Dancehall comes from poverty and the strive to bring our hardships, fights and perseverance to light in our music. Love Shaggy's support but love Kartel, Teejay, 6ixx, Alka, Skilli, Riti, Javie and the many more that is keeping our culture "vybing" across this planet.
