26:10 It's a dev room. Lots of video games have them. Basically, there is a room somewhere that the player is not supposed to have access to, often under the map. A bunch of assets, like characters, items, or vehicles are preloaded there at the start of the game or when you enter the region. Then it pulls those assets into the world for cutscenes or to spawn in those items/NPCs, thus frontloading load times and making the game run more smoothly with less time spent breaking the immersion to load those items in from scratch.

It's especially useful when hosting live multiplayer stuff, like Caine effectively is. Then you can copy-paste assets rather than search through the menu. Seen it a bunch with Arma, for example. The 'Zeus' will have pre-made squads placed outside of where players should go, with the AI disabled. Then they'll copy them somewhere and enable AI. Let's them create entire custom squads in seconds.

I think that Caine is not allowed to harm humans in any way. When humans go insane he puts them in the basement instead of deleating them. I think that Caine deleated a human once thinking it was a NPC. That is why Caine got so dark at the end.

Something I noticed: When Ragatha mentions to Pomni about Kaufmo's funeral, Jax has a sort of sad look in his eye, which he quickly blinks away and plays it off as him rolling his eyes. I think he cares a LOT more than he lets on.

there’s a theory that he’s going through the 5 stages of grief. starting with denial in the pilot when he’s saying that “everything’s fine, it’s just Kaufmo”, then leading into anger in episode two when he wants to cause blood death and chaos, acting all aggressive and pissed off. if this holds true, we should see bargaining next…followed by depression and finally acceptance

My favorite thing from this episode is the main theme, the arc our protagonist goes through: Pomni thought she was just destined to be abstracted and then she'd be tossed aside and forgotten by these new companions (in her nightmare, as she fell to her doom, Jax even said he couldn't remember her name anymore already). She sees in a broken NPC with an existential crisis the only potential for serious, open hearted conversations, and Caine takes it away from her. But then... the funeral, where she sees these wacky people are, ultimately, people. Just like her, they have feelings, and they still remember and honor the memories of those abstracted. Brilliant idea, to show the metaphorical ending of her nightmare: Pomni's friends grabbing her and stopping her fall.

@@kaylenvee8150 Well ouch, that's a morbid way of putting it, yeah 😅 But hey, how about this: the mourning is just the way she realizes they care, it's not about "I may end up like Kaufmo but I'll be mourned", rather "if they cared so much about Kaufmo, they'll care about me" ☺️ And that is actually something that helps her *not* abstracting, it gives her enough comfort to avoid losing it: hence the metaphorical hand grab that saves her from being put in the basement with the other abstractions! 😁

Its amazing how my opinion of this series got significantly better with only the second episode, it went from a show I liked to a show I genuinely love. Seriously, I was not expecting to be THIS emotionally invested in this world and its characters before this episode came out. There are also great bits of storytelling, as well at hints at greater depth for a lot of characters in this episode, and I also was not expecting this series to tackle what it must be like for the NPCs of this world in only its second episode. Caine as a callous advanced AI who means well but is still incredibly thoughtless and careless when it comes to addressing the humans emotional needs also makes him a fascinating antagonist (if he counts as one). The pilot episode had some intrigue when it came to the world building, but I find all this character stuff far more interesting and worth getting invested in... which is good, since Gooseworx confirmed that not every episode is going to be super lore-heavy, and that 95% of the the show's story progression will be through character development, and I'm totally here for it! I also really like the "Pomni Wake Up" video, if only because the animation in that video is more loose and... unhinged, I guess, than usual. I get the feeling Kevin Temmer animated that video all by himself. But hey, if you're going to react to the other Amazing Digital Circus videos, maybe you could also check out the "Very Special Digital Circus Song" video? That was a fun one!

I have a few theories... 1) Jax has something to do with everyone being there. The repeated joke of him having access to keys gives me the belief that he at some point had admin control. 2) Jax and Kinger knew each other before they were in the Circus. The only character that Jax hasn't shown hostility towards is Kinger. (Only a snarky comment.) They both seem to have more knowledge of how the Circus works compared to everyone else. When it comes to both, it's in the air whether they know this consciously, or subconsciously. But it does feel like something's there.

I think what’s gonna happen with Gummygoo is he’s not gonna be reset (the circus is too glitchy, it def seems like something Caine would forget about doing) And then Gummygoo will be an Antagonist. His world views were shattered, he was offered a home, and then it’s immediately taken away as if to just make fun of his situation. I could see him creating a league of self-aware NPCs who actually try to abstract and ruin the Circus

I doubt the NPCs can abstract. The minds of the humans are something Caine can't control, hence why he can't reverse full abstraction and has to use activities to try to the humans sane. The NPCs he can make, unmade and adjust the AI of whenever he wants.

This makes me hate Caine more than i did before. I hope we eventually get one episode where they give him "the Talk". Like, an emotional outburst, tell him that this circus idea is BS, tell him how they could simply live in peace, NPCs as well, no adventures needed. (This will likely happen much further in the episodes if it ever does, because if it does there is no more room for adventures and episode ideas)

That would probably be too much for Caine's programming to handle. We already have it darkly hinted that bad things happen if Caine ever loses track of who is human and who isn't. And without the adventures it is implied the humans mental states will deteriorate more easily.
