Love that this episode gives us a feel for the player styles of the characters. Zooble is a non-player, Kinger and Gangle are just going along with the flow, Ragatha is the one trying to get into the setting and adventure, Jax is a "murder hobo", and Pomni is meta...so meta she even made the one-off campaign enemy question their own existence.

I peg him as a murder hobo player. He knows its all fake and no consequences...side theory he might think that of the others as well, but in the adventures themselves he can't think of the NPCs as people, and really a lot of people play that way, especially when its a single player game...how many people playing a game like Prototype for instance didn't rescue the helpless homeless town and then proceed to see if they could eat everyone in the area before they could respawn, or drive an ATV down the sidewalk. Its just when you have to play with others that this tendency should be dialed back...and he's not really dialing it back. Ragatha is trying to get into the role while the others play along and Jax is just...I choose to kill the merchant and steal all their supplies, much to the irritation of everyone at the table.

Sooooooooo... yes they updated the textures, but they probably also improved the lighting, and used a better rendering engine. In episode 1 they most likely used Mental Ray, which is a default engine in maya. My guess is that they probably upgraded to the Arnold engine.

I think after Kaufmo got turned, Jax lost his only friend there so because of that, he realizes he wants nothing more to do with friends and everything to do with causing mayhem. You can tell because as soon as he heard AI he wanted to hurt everyone, probably because they have no real souls or so he thinks. It also could explain why he didnt go to Kaufmo's funeral because maybe he cant accept Kaufmo is gone? I dunno, i could also be like Bob Burger and overanalyzing the show.
