It’s absurd to me that Mike Brown got canned for simply stating that Fox shouldn’t have guarded that way. He’s not completely shitting on him like how Doc did Simmons (even if it was warranted), what he’s saying is an objective fact. At that point in the game Fox should’ve been glued to his man and Fox knows that too, hence his answer. Not to mention, the issues with the team were created by the GM trading for DeRozan, not the coach.

I agree, Mike Brown didn't attack Fox directly, this could have bin any player of the roster and he would most likely said the exact same thing there. I guess some of what he said to the media belongs into a time out or practice, doesn't need to be talked out this way (it's not forbiden or anything but in my opinion doesn't need to get talked out in front of the camera). I'm not saying it was bad but I would have rather said less, sometimes saying less is better. It would have bin enough to say: Tough loss, we should have won this game, but we didn't. and if the reporter asks in specific, he could go back and say: "we" did a mistake. But if this gets him kicked out of there, then he should thank them to not have to be there anymore, because that's a bad spot to be at if you're not allowed to say anything. I mean look at Gregg Popovich, he calls it directly and did he got fired for that? (Gregg is there since 1996, 28 years) I watched some press conferences of his and Mike Brown was

When do NBA teams learn that creating a coaching merry-go-round is counterproductive? Look at the Celtics for example. Since the early 2000's they have had four head coaches...and even then they only moved on from Brad Stevens because Stevens himself said he had grown burned out with coaching. In their Front Office, Boston has to be one of the most stable teams in pro-sports, since they were dominated by Red Auerbach (even post his retirement), then by Danny Ainge (who learned directly from Red) and then by Brad Stevens (who learned directly from Ainge). Now, Boston isn't a contender every year. But they are damned good almost every year. One of the things with the modern NBA is that players move around a lot more (due to their own designs or the team's trades). Therefore, the coach and front office become much more important for establishing and maintaining a culture. This is in contract to the Jordan-era where players might play most of their careers on one team (and therefore the star players were more involved in this realm).

Has Fox managed to become something other than a liability on defense? If he is still a defensive liability, then he shouldn't be demanding anything. Very hard to win with a defensive liability at the PG spot in the modern NBA. The only one who has recently is Steph Curry and I don't think Steph is as bad defensively as people think (especially in the playoffs) and Steph is also an all-time great.

All of them need to go. If Mike Brown isn't allowed to hold them accountable, telling Fox he needs to step his game up and be the leader, then I have no idea how anyone is supposed to coach that team. It will be grossly unfair to the coaching staff left behind when they get the blame on top of it and an entire new staff, probably with zero NBA experience comes in to coach next season. Understand, I am in favor of firing the front office as well. Get them gone. They could have waited until after the next game to do this, waited until the next morning and done it then. That would have been the classier way to handle it. I hope Mike Malone brings him on board for next season in Denver. It would be a great screw you to the Kings organization.
