Just bought a 10kg competition bell to learn juggling. Flowing and juggling looks so fun can't wait to get good and come up with some flows!

This looks like fun. I brought a 4kg steel mace just because of your videos and it's my favourite exercise now, just so rewarding. Edit: I can't wait to show off with the steel mace with my Indian colleagues :).

Is there really any benefit to kettlebell juggling from a conditioning and sports performance perspective? I totally understand the mobility and hand eye perspective, but would it make me stronger, leaner and quicker versus Swings, Cleans, Presses and Snatches? Tell me if that’s a foolish question!
@notundermywatch3163 Жыл бұрын
You got it right. Juggling can't replace the classic exercises. Juggling is only the expression of your strength, hand eye coordination, mobility and creativity.

Hello friend, I follow you from Spain, what brand and model of kettlebell is this that you are using in juggling??? I'm looking for a similar one because of the type of handle and I can't find one as good as yours. Thank you very much friend, how great you are!!

Appreciate the kind words. I got mine from winnerswinloserslose.nl (flowingdutchman10) for a 10% discount :) I’ve also had kettlebells from sportbay.nl. Both are great. Enjoy!

What size is a good all around size for kettlebell juggling? Basically kb equivalent of a 10 lb mace. Thanks
@TheFlowingDutchman3 жыл бұрын
I would say 8kg, I prefer 12 now but only after the initial learning period. You need to flip it so many times to understand the technique so at the beginning you should not be too fatigued.

It’s hard to teach ‘flow’ . It’s mainly a matter of having a solid foundation of the basics and getting creative

Hey man, I am considering the possibility of starting kettlebell juggling. I already do some kettlebell training with a non competition kettlebell. I use a 10kg kettlebell. But the non competition kettlebell does feels unconfortable in my wrist when doing the presses overhead, plus I cannot juglle with it. I am messaging you to ask for advice of what weight should I go for to buy a competition kettlebell? 8kg (I fear it might be too light), 10kg (I dont't really wanna buy 10kg because I already have a 10kg kettlebell), 12kg (I fear it will be too heavy for fuggling). What would you recommend? I know that maybe the ideal is to have a variety of weights, but competition kettlebells are expensive and right now I want to start with one kettlebell that I can do most of the stuff, and I might buy more kettlebells on the future. Thanks for advance for your help.
@Jmon808 Жыл бұрын
Light as possible is the best for juggling. The competition style kettlebells make a huge difference
@notundermywatch3163 Жыл бұрын
In your case if you want to juggle buy a 12kg. If you want to get jacked buy a 20kg.

have you never dropped anything on your toes? i've seriously started considering steel toed boots bc i am worried about losing my grip with mace...
@TheFlowingDutchman3 жыл бұрын
Nope, haven’t dropped it on my foot. My reflexes are quite good, but that is also something you learn while doing this. Loosing the grip on the mace rarely happens, but if you feel safer that way ;)
@EnochDark3 жыл бұрын
@@TheFlowingDutchman mine too but i am getting old now... i've yet to lose grip on my mace b/c i've only used it indoors and cannot afford to damage my home, belongings or cats (not even allowed in the room when i'm flowing) but i do foresee a time when i feel confident enough to take it outside like you... i just worry that i may lose control if outside tho. glad you have never dropped yours on foot but what about other injuries ever? not even on that crazy trip to India?

@@TheFlowingDutchman In related news, I just received another mace yesterday! This one is from Tacfit but my previous, from Garage Fit. The TF seems to have a higher "quality" powder coat/knurling on it however I feel perhaps it is TOO grippy (rough) and might tear my hands up after a while. It has already tipped and taken some paint off the wall with the handle. (the ball is not as flat on the end so it doesn't stand up as well as the GF either) The GF mace on the "other hand" lol seems to have a "cheaper" but smoother finish to it. I feel that I am able to flow more comfortably with this one. Is this the ideal or what??? Anyways just curious for any input you have on this Grip vs. Slip scenario. Also if you have any experience with either of these brands or can recommend another. One more issue is that the 7lb mace is shorter with a smaller handle. I just wanted something lighter but not smaller. Is there a company making say 3-4kg maces but with the 1 meter long and thicker type handles???
@TheFlowingDutchman3 жыл бұрын
@@EnochDark Hey man, I see what you mean. I don't like the gnarly grip too much, what does happen is that this will fade after extensive use and become smoother. What's best is a powder that is not too rough, but does not strip off fast (some cheap ones will strip off very fast). I do not have experience with either of those brands. For a 4kg mace with a thicker grip you can check the winnerswinloserslose.nl site (10% off with flowingdutchman10). For a 3kg mace there is one a strengthshop.de they have a thinner handle. This becomes necessary otherwise the handle has too much weight compared to the globe. I also like the lifemaxx 4kg mace, it's very well balanced, but it has a thinner handle. Hope that helps!
@EnochDark3 жыл бұрын
@@TheFlowingDutchman Ah here it is ;) Thank you for confirming my suspicions about the rougher one smoothing over time and the thinner stuff possibly stripping... Hopefully not too soon! If this has happened to any of your maces did you try to refinish it or just leave it bare? Do you feel that the 4 with the thick grip is balanced properly based on what you said? Thanks so much for the reply! LOL "Winners Win/Losers Lose" now I want one just because of that :D It doesn't appear that they ship to the states unfortunately or am I missing something here? I tried typing in my post code and it generated shipping cost of only 9 euros? That's crazy considering I just paid $23 to have a 7lb mace shipped to me from California! Any idea how long it would take to arrive? I'm pretty excited about the chance to get "between" weights by switching to KG. I don't understand why they don't just do them in 2.5lb increments here like some companies do with dumbbells...

I don't understand why anyone would do this. Do the fitness benefits outweigh the increased risk of injury? Or is this just meant to be a circus gimmick to impress others?

This is something that you should only try once you're completely comfortable with a given weight. I would even say at least 1 weight up for the basics before your try flow/juggling. Benefits are nothing magical, but it sure as hell is the most fun you'll have working out.
