The trust and patience that cat is showing is remarkable!!! In my experience a lot of animal moms (cats and dogs) are quite protective of their babies and don't let anyone near them besides their trusted human (if even that), so it's absolutely beautiful to see the cat letting her puppy friend give her kisses and say hello to the kittens ❤️

This is the most chill mother cat I have ever seen in my entire life. Having supervised both cats and dogs giving birth before and having other animals, I was fully expecting her to attack this pup when he got too close to her babies, considering these kittens look like newborns, I am surprised how willing she is to allow this pup so near her and the babies. Clearly she trusts him. Other than the one swipe, she was totally relaxed with him.

When I saw little German Shepherd JESSIE trying to nibble DORA's nose, I found that scary and awful, because Mom Cat was giving some milk to her little children and she could'nt make any movement ... but making : "Meaow !"....... Poor Dora ! When will her owners understand that she still needs to be quiet and to rest without being disturbed by all those huge monsters-dogs, like Bailey & Rocky, or these two little girls, Mia & Jessie ? Don't have any pets (up until recently, my building wasn't allowed pets... now I've moved, pets are allowed, but will probably still take a while before I can afford to look after one). Did grow up with my family, always having two dogs and a cat. So I am used to pets. My favourite animals are bees - of course, you can't keep them as pets (not good for them), so you just have to plant flowers and see them enjoy the flowers. But since I now have a share in a garden, I can do that. Will be sorta-kinda like having pets. :) When me and my partner do get a proper pet, I'm guessing it will be a cat or a dog. Seems like the obvious and sensible pair of options.

My adopted male pitbull mix is almost 9 years old and I still call him "pupper" ~ I can see my Jasper behave the same way as this pup did. It's amazing how much animals understand and insight they have. For those that see animals as "dumb," they understand about the fragility of life much more than humans and behave accordingly. I brought 3 one-month old kittens into my home that their mama cat left in my yard. I had no place to put them, so I placed them in my bedroom where my older male cat practically lives, as he seldom leaves to roam the rest of the house. At first, I was concerned about his reaction and kept a close eye on him. In no time I saw that he had adopted them as their "momma," and licked/cleaned them continuously. It's as though he understood that these were young kittens unable to care for themselves and had no one else but him. It's been one whole month and they are fully bonded with each other. He lets them bite and climb all over him. It's amazing. How many human men would be so quick to adopt another man's children and look after them as his own??

This is how you raise a large dog to be gentle! 👍You make sure you know the dog well enough to know how it behaves when introduced to new animals, and then you make sure they don't inadvertently harm the other animal. Exposure training is important!

🥰 The German Shepherd’s build in “protection of family”-mode kicks in right away. Obviously the cat was there when the puppy arrived in the home, so they know each other well like family members. They fully trust each other. The owner is amazing too in her knowledge of how puppy and cat will react. The puppy can look forward to weeks and weeks of playtime! Cuteness overload already when the pup walks in with that toy. Jesse or Jessie? Either way, the paw size promises a big adult dog!

I love how you can see the moment the pup's brain switch flips from "curious & excited puppy play" mode to "respectful & protective shepherd" mode. 0:35 That pup knows the job, insitictivly lol. And I can tell momma cat appreciates the big floofer, even if they get a bit annoying loll. They really are such a protective breed, though. They're sweethearts. I was lucky to grow up alongside our German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mutt, Buddy. My sister and I were 5 & 8 yrs old, respectively, and he was 6 months old; adopted from the animal shelter. He was so full of energy and love. It was almost overwhelming, how rowdy he got in snowy weather. But we felt so safe with him too. We lived on a farm in the rural outskirts of the suburbs....back then, criminals fleeing the city & hiding out in the local farmland/barns was an occasional occurrence that hit the news. When looking into adopting a dog, my mom wanted a large sized & protective dog, to be with my sister and I whenever we played outside. And yeah, Buddy was quite large, even for a German Shepherd, and he really did his job. I miss him...he was with us for 14 yrs. RIP Buddy 💗🐕‍🦺
