My dog's (Hixon) dad was Trump!! It was so cool watching him hunt and see why my boy got his drive!! Josh and his family are so nice and happy to know them. This video is awesome :)

I had a dog get bit by a diamond back rattler this last year. It was touch and go for a while but he fully recovered. My heart goes out to him I know the feeling of being helpless.

Snake avoidance training is on my priority list this year. You can lose a dog so fast. Snakes, porcupines, wolves, coyotes, cars, blue green algae, the list seems endless, but what do you do? You love hunting and so does your dog. It’s either waste the season inside or take the risk. I’m always a little relieved when our ND sharptail hunt is over. The birds are phenomenal but the snake threat is always something I think about on the 10 hr drive out to our spot.

Had a Gordon Setter growing up, such a fantastic, noble dog. I miss him every day. Glad yours is ok!

Watching this video with a tear in my eye, for more than one reason. Had to put my GSP of 16 down last year, and my year old Pointer was very sick, she was paralysed for almost a week, beginning of January 2022. She is getting better but still falling a lot as the front legs still aren’t 100%. She got spat by a Rinkals ( sort of a cobra here in South Africa) 2 weeks ago while out on a morning walk to get the legs working again. Fantastic video we only get to hunt wild birds in South Africa so I relate to what you are doing. Like the ambulance.

Great show, how long do you cook them on each side?
@TheFlush2 жыл бұрын
It's hard to say because Travis doesn't time it as it depends on each steak. Cook on low heat, rotating often. Test after a few minutes to test how firm it is.

Hi Kevin. Our show re-airs on Outdoor Channel T.V. through the end of December. After that is when we are able to post the episodes to KZbin.

Is there rattlesnake adversion training?
@fliesnfeathers2 жыл бұрын
Thankfully there is. If you live in an area rattlesnakes live there should be a clinic within a couple hours of you

A couple of things with dogs and hot weather. A don't go out early to beat the heat. Spend one hour after the birds have settled and get a good quality hour hunting. That's all most dog's that work hard can handle above 80. We did lose one dog to a snake in Montana this year, but it did die living a good life.

Out of how many dogs and how many days hunted?
@thewonderof067902 жыл бұрын
The dogs are hunting like soft flushing dogs. With over thirty years hunting wild birds that's what works. Leave long ranging flashy dogs at home. Just because the country is big it doesn't mean big running dogs work in big country
