Great interview! There was a short lived detective story with Rainn portraying a chronic drunk, semi washed up lead detectives who had an uncanny way of solving mysterious murders, that I loved. It only ran half a season, but it was gritty and beautifully filmed. It seemed to be crimes occurring in Vancouver. There was a lot rainy weather and atmosphere, in each shot. It was called Backstrom, Rainn's character's name. I was really loving it and then it was cancelled. Also an architectural magazine did a great piece on Rainn's home. It was filled with lots of great contemporary art and his father's paintings, which as an artist myself, I really appreciated. It was very appealing abstract paintings. They had photos of his house which was beautifully appointed in SW American ( Indian) art. His wife was also featured and she seemed like a funny, highly creative person as well. His character portrayal as Dwight. was spot on, as I have known assholes like him my whole life in the few jobs held in offices early in my career. I was professional exhibiting artist, but there some years I had to take (straight) jobs, outside of my chosen profession, jobs gotten through temp. services,...in offices. Cool. Boomer Lives!

Stopped listening at around 19:18 when Wilson gaslights Maron dismissing his perception of an event and refers to something Janeane Garofalo did as "so stupid". He could find a more respectful way to express himself. He is arrogant, disrespectful, and acts as if his perception of the events is truth. Sadly, Maron doesn't push back. Then both he and Maron dismiss the morality & bravery that Garofalo exhibited by opposing the 2003 US invasion of Iraq which was based on an obvious Colin Powell and George W. Bush lie of WMD and led to so many deaths of US troops and so many more deaths of the Iraqi civilians- a tragedy we're still paying for today. Instead, Maron, and to a greater extent Wilson, seemed more concerned about a pilot that didn't work out. To top it all off, they both appear to conclude that the pilot didn't work out because of Garofalo's appearance and her politics. Let's have some nuance please, to not at least not APPEAR so misogynist.
