If you take a marker and write the word “on” on the protective sheet, when you’ll know it’s the correct side because of you put it on correctly it will say “on” and wrong will say “no”. Just a tip.

One tip I wish I had know many years ago when I started is if my material doesn’t cut all the way through or if I am worried it didn’t cut all the way through, I check before even unloading the mat. If it didn’t cut all the way through you can push the c again and it will cut again. Because if you unload the mat it might not cut the same

Ive wanted a Cricut for a few years now, and my husband just bought one for me for Christmas. Ive had it for about a week now and have only done one project (which was a premade design). After getting set up and beginning in design space, let me tell you, Ive been overwhelmed and intimidated about the whole thing! I thought in the design space program there would be a beginners guide with step by step tutorials on how to make different projects, but so far from what I've found there isnt. It seems you have to depend heavily on youtube videos for help, and Im more of a hands on learner so its a bit harder for me to learn just by watching videos. Your video is one of the very few I've watched so far, and your whole demeanor just seems so genuine, and you seem so relatable! One thing that’s also important to note is that when doing research as to how to do something in Design Space, make sure you pay attention to the fact that not all operating systems run Design Space the same! If you have an Apple product, it’s going to look different from someone doing so on something else, as well as from a tablet or your phone or home computer! Not all of the features are the same in the app across the board as well as all the features are not going to be in the same place or even existent at all in each one. It may take a little bit more effort to learn how to run it all when keeping this in mind.

You’re absolutely right about it not being wasted and it being a lesson learned. Thank you so much for this incredibly helpful video!
@Lacroix999 Жыл бұрын
Idk why this makes some so mad because they think they’re just going to get it right the first time when there’s ALWAYS a new learning curve when you pick up a new project so that should just be expected. It takes many hours to master something new and if you weren’t screwing up, you’re not making enough mistakes to learn from it to do better and grow! Also, if you have a few hundred dollars for the machine itself, why are you mad when you “waste” a few dollars more on a cheap roll of vinyl to practice on?!

A little note: the purple mat is more for thicker fabrics like leather! There is also a pink mat for fabrics like cotton, I just don’t ever cut fabric so I don’t use the pink mats :) Also, aluminum foil doesn’t actually sharpen the blade, but rather cleans all the debris and whatnot from it, so that you can truly take advantage of the sharpness of the blade! I hope this helps 💜

Thank you so much for making this video. I know you made it 3 years ago but it has encouraged me to actually use my machine. I've had it for a couple of years now and have taken it out of the box three or four times but have never tried to create anything because I've definitely been intimidated. You have put my mind at ease and I AM going to try my first project today 😁 Thanks again!

Love the real advice you give about practicing before actually start selling your art or services !! I am in the Nail and Beauty industry in Ontario aswell and I see so many people posting services and crafts in marketplace and it’s blows my mind the confidence they have to be doing that when they are still just practicing or just started .. I studied and practiced on myself for a year and a half because I felt that my services would last and was worth paying for !!!!! And also obviously that knowledge you learn you don’t want to make those mistakes with customers and get negative feedback it would also stick with me very badly

Just a side note: Tools are based on what kinds of crafting you do. I use the spatula with almost every project because I work with cardstock. It helps to loosen the cardstock from the mat. I personally stick with just Green mats but do use paper towels with new mats to make it less sticky otherwise it's hard to get cardstock off of it till it's been used a few times. I use unscented baby wipes to clean my mats in between cuts as my preferred craft makes them dirty faster than other types of crafting. As for general cleaning I use dawn dish soap and soft sponge to do better cleaning of them. (1x/month) Please please do your research before posting information that isn't correct. You can not sharpen a carbide blade unless you use a diamond sharpener. All tin foil will do is potentially remove little piece that may have gotten stuck on the blade or adhesive if you do a lot of adhesive projects. A paper towel with rubbing alcohol will do the same thing. Thank you for sharing. It's great to look back on what you have learned and be able to ease the minds of newer users.

Hi Orion!! Great points! Thanks so much for sharing :) I touched on the tin foil stuff in other comments about choosing my words better, definitely not wanting to mislead anyone! I hope you have an awesome day!!

I purchased my cricut during quarantine, then restrictions were lifted and I went back to work. I have now had my cricut for almost 2 years and have never even taken it out of the box. I have my own business and am a Grooming Salon owner. I had no idea just how much money this cricut could save me, or the free advertising I get by puting my logo on bananas. Thank you for giving me the courage to start. So easy, why was I afraid?

This is one of the most helpful videos I have watched! Bought my machine today (mine is mauve so would match your room) and am so nervous to get started. Will look up some more of your videos. Also love that you kept in the ‘sh*t/sheet thing. Haha. Keeping it real.

Thank you. I have used the original Cricut for years and loved it. My family got me the air 2 for Christmas and I’m excited and intimidated at the same time as I’m computer illiterate. But I’m going to learn no matter how long it takes😁 this video was extremely helpful.

I am very grateful to have found this video!! I have so many ideas but became intimidated by my first attempt with the Cricut Explorer Air 2. Thank you for being relatable, sharing your experiences, being down to earth, and for making the learning experience fun. You ROCK!!!!

I received the Cricut Explore Air 2 for Christmas this year (2022) from my dear, sweet Hubby!I am a card maker primarily . I have never wanted a Cricut. In fact I have told my husband many times why I didn't buy one, so I'm not sure why he bought it, but he was so proud of his choice that I didn;t have the heart to say I didn't want it. So now I'm researching via You Tube on what it can do and how to use it. I have not used it yet. The thought is very overwhelming. I'm not a technology person, so this is a learning curve for me. I did enjoy your video very much! you answered a lot of questions that I had wondered about and even some questions I didn't know to ask! After listening to your advice, I have decided to start slow and learn how to make paper cards. I would also like to learn how to make labels for my craft room. So, thank you for your wisdom.

Thank you so much for your encouraging video. I received my Cricut Maker 3 machine this week as a gift from my husband and kids. It's my first cutting machine. I wish I'd know about these years ago. I have been doing card craft for years and always wanted it to look better and not so "hand done". I have been watching heaps of videos and came across yours. This has been one of the most informative! One of the videos I watched, a lady was doing a print and cut on glossy paper and her machine didn't recognize the lines. She used clear scotch tape, which has a matte finish. She claimed this worked, well it showed on the video how it worked. Just thought I would mention to you, in case this helps with the colored paper issue. Not sure if it will, but it's all about sharing our tips, right? I have subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your videos.

i love to use the paper studio vinyl that I find at hobby lobby and they always have it on sale and I also have the joy and I like using the paper studio brand cards to make cards with my joy. I also use the cardstock from target that's comes in a lot of different colors and they are super cheap.

Love the “sheet” language stuff-up being kept in the video 😆😆 #RealTalk Excellent video!! Haven’t bought one yet, only recently discovered what they are as I’ve only just started crafting… Well, haven’t even started crafting yet, I’ve been gathering crafting materials for 2yrs & have a literally overflowing whole room for crafting (stupid OCD, spent 2yrs gathering & organising rather than crafting😑) but considering getting one of these rather than continuing to spend a fortune buying pre-done die cuts ect. Great video!! 😁😁

I totally get you- Ive done the same with my sewing room, more tools, wasted fabric , and organizing than actual projects; and since I also want a cricut but don't know which one to get that I know I will use, I decided to hold on and research.
