If you take a marker and write the word “on” on the protective sheet, when you’ll know it’s the correct side because of you put it on correctly it will say “on” and wrong will say “no”. Just a tip.

I bought one used on OfferUp, wanted to make simple stencils I usually cut myself. However, my arthritis is getting too bad so welcome to me again. I hated it, the a,s and e,s for example doesn’t bridge the holes! Now, I bought the cricut maker, actually hubby bought for our 36th anniversary- so now I’m watching tutorials and simple projects. .I created a small sign for a craft show upcoming this after only a slight lesson. I see the bridges still aren’t on letters with holes. Any suggestion? Thanks?

One tip I wish I had know many years ago when I started is if my material doesn’t cut all the way through or if I am worried it didn’t cut all the way through, I check before even unloading the mat. If it didn’t cut all the way through you can push the c again and it will cut again. Because if you unload the mat it might not cut the same

One thing that’s also important to note is that when doing research as to how to do something in Design Space, make sure you pay attention to the fact that not all operating systems run Design Space the same! If you have an Apple product, it’s going to look different from someone doing so on something else, as well as from a tablet or your phone or home computer! Not all of the features are the same in the app across the board as well as all the features are not going to be in the same place or even existent at all in each one. It may take a little bit more effort to learn how to run it all when keeping this in mind.

I think it was very important that you ended with "practice before you sell!" because its 100% true. I've yet to get a complaint with my hand dyed yarn business but the excitement of making a sale in the early days was almost overshadowed by the anxiety of someone possibly being displeased with my work/product! I totally hold on to those moments too.

Ive wanted a Cricut for a few years now, and my husband just bought one for me for Christmas. Ive had it for about a week now and have only done one project (which was a premade design). After getting set up and beginning in design space, let me tell you, Ive been overwhelmed and intimidated about the whole thing! I thought in the design space program there would be a beginners guide with step by step tutorials on how to make different projects, but so far from what I've found there isnt. It seems you have to depend heavily on youtube videos for help, and Im more of a hands on learner so its a bit harder for me to learn just by watching videos. Your video is one of the very few I've watched so far, and your whole demeanor just seems so genuine, and you seem so relatable! Your channel is my first subscription and I will be watching more of your videos!

Love the real advice you give about practicing before actually start selling your art or services !! I am in the Nail and Beauty industry in Ontario aswell and I see so many people posting services and crafts in marketplace and it’s blows my mind the confidence they have to be doing that when they are still just practicing or just started .. I studied and practiced on myself for a year and a half because I felt that my services would last and was worth paying for !!!!! And also obviously that knowledge you learn you don’t want to make those mistakes with customers and get negative feedback it would also stick with me very badly

You’re absolutely right about it not being wasted and it being a lesson learned. Thank you so much for this incredibly helpful video!
@Lacroix999
@Lacroix999 Жыл бұрын
Idk why this makes some so mad because they think they’re just going to get it right the first time when there’s ALWAYS a new learning curve when you pick up a new project so that should just be expected. It takes many hours to master something new and if you weren’t screwing up, you’re not making enough mistakes to learn from it to do better and grow! Also, if you have a few hundred dollars for the machine itself, why are you mad when you “waste” a few dollars more on a cheap roll of vinyl to practice on?!

When you assured us that we didn’t need every single tool, that helped reassure me. I ended up saving $60 and got the color I wanted. Thank you! I’ve only ever used an older cricut my coworker has that you actually type letters into the machine itself and had to purchase design cutting packets for (it was very old and no internet or bluetooth). So, this will be exciting to learn to use. Thanks again. I subscribed!

Thank you so much for your video!!! It has been very helpful! I just got my machine 2 weeks ago and did a few projects that have not turned out good!!! I been feeling overwhelmed I almost want to return it, but after watching your video I guess I’m not alone! But I almost felt like crying when things didn’t come out good but since the machine is also for my daughter I’m doing my best to not give up just yet!!! I will keep watching your videos so that I’m able to gain more knowledge using the machine!!! Thank you I feel a bit more relieved that I’m not the only one that didn’t get things right in the beginning I guess there is sooooo much to learn!!! Thank you so much 😊

Thank you so much for your encouraging video. I received my Cricut Maker 3 machine this week as a gift from my husband and kids. It's my first cutting machine. I wish I'd know about these years ago. I have been doing card craft for years and always wanted it to look better and not so "hand done". I have been watching heaps of videos and came across yours. This has been one of the most informative! One of the videos I watched, a lady was doing a print and cut on glossy paper and her machine didn't recognize the lines. She used clear scotch tape, which has a matte finish. She claimed this worked, well it showed on the video how it worked. Just thought I would mention to you, in case this helps with the colored paper issue. Not sure if it will, but it's all about sharing our tips, right? I have subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your videos.

I have wanted to purchase the Cricut Explorer Air 2 but feeling a little intimidated and it was overwhelming me when I saw all the different tools and materials you "need" to purchase to get started. The shelves at Michaels are jam packed with different items that I thought one had to buy when purchasing a Cricut machine. Your video has completely calmed me down and I now have a better understanding of what I need to purchase with my machine. I just loved your demeanor on this video (first time seeing your videos) and it felt like you were a good friend, right beside me while explaining these useful words of advice! Thank you Thank you Thank you for sharing your words of wisdom and advice!

A little note: the purple mat is more for thicker fabrics like leather! There is also a pink mat for fabrics like cotton, I just don’t ever cut fabric so I don’t use the pink mats :) Also, aluminum foil doesn’t actually sharpen the blade, but rather cleans all the debris and whatnot from it, so that you can truly take advantage of the sharpness of the blade! I hope this helps 💜

I just bought a Cricut Explore Air 2 and have found your video most helpful! I have been recently disabled and am unable to work due to a traumatic brain injury and other issues and I can't get disability because I was a stay at home mom for 5 of my last ten years. I guess what I'm wanting to tell you is that I feel blessed to come across your channel and will take all of your advice because I do plan on selling things down the road once I get a hang of this! I get my cricut today, and I had NO idea how big they are!! I'm so excited, I'll start small doing my daughter's water bottles, gifts and such! I will also watch your other videos as I don't know what foiling is but I'm sure it's cool! Thank you for sharing your info, that is very kind of you!!

All of this applied to me when I got my First Generation Crucut Expression when they first came out way, way back when.... there were few videos, no books or classes. Its still the only oaper cutting machine I own and use brcause it doesn't require a laptop or computer to use it. This is a great video. Thank you for taking the time to share all this very useful information. I have always followed that golden rule of practice, practice, practice before foing something new.

I got a dental tool at a thrift store that looks almost like a weeding tool, works great. But an awl from the fabric store will also work. End of it can be bent but not necessary. If tip is too sharp just blunt it a little by scratching on sand paper - 220 grit or emery board ( nail file)

I just got one myself. The twilight. Helpful money saving tip....was told the twilight only comes as a bundle. Mine was cheaper than many. Bought from JoAnn's. I ordered online as that was the cheapest way. Came with everything: 6 sheets of perm vinyl (various colors), 12 sheets of heat transfer (2 each of 6 colors), a tiny amount of card stock for one learning project they'll walk you through, all the tools you need, a marker and of course the machine and cords. Couldn't be happier! Only thing I'm missing is some transfer tape...tip from someone else, I'll be stopping at wallyworld for some contact paper lol.
