As soon as you popped up on my tablet screen, my first thought was, "Wow, that jacket is a perfect colour for you! It really is perfect! Please don't change the colour. And how smart to do the striped lining on the diagonal! Brilliant! I think this is the first time I've loved all the patterns you have shown. I really think that last skirt will be perfect for the summer. I see it in a denim on the top with a floaty gathered cotton print bottom. Thanks for a perfect start to my Sunday.

hi! in regards to the color. i find that when people ask "is this color good on me" they really mean "it's bolder than what i normally wear! will i attract too much attention?" let me help you out. yes, you will attract attention and all of it good! that jacket was well made and looks fabulous! why wouldn't you attract attention? it's the course of being fabulous, just roll with it! ); D

I love the colour of the jacket on you. I think it’s a real winner. One of the things to be cautious about when dying a sewn garment is that polyester thread may not accept the dye and whilst that can end up really interesting, it’s not always the effect you intend.

KATE! Keep the jacket as it is! It's a cheerful color, second chakra = creativity. It looks GOOD on you! And with that orange, we can see the stitch definition better, which is one of the reasons that pattern is so cool.

As soon as I saw you in the rust coloured jacket, I thought wow that colour suits you! It looks nice with the black top underneath as well. I think if you dye it, you may end up with a sludgy colour. Also if you have used polyester thread, the stitching won't dye. I love it, keep it 😄

Love, love, love the jacket, as soon as I saw it I thought I'd have to contact you and see where it was from. Love the colour on you too, it reflects the beautiful colour of outback Australia and highlights your hair (and glasses) rather than overwhelms. I was also really pleased that you had made it. On many of the videos, you sadly never seem to have time to sew, so great that you were able to smash this one.

Hi Kate. Thank you for your videos, which I always enjoy. They are a good length and you convey a lot of information in a short time without talking too fast or seeming rushed, all while being cheery. Quite a feat! If you don't feel great in a color, let it go. Either way, when you're old you'll never say, "I wish I wore/didn't wear that orange jacket more." LOL. YOLO - dye it if you wanna give it a try!

Tauko won me over with their choice of models! The jeans with the cool yoke by A Different Stitch are so interesting, and I notice that pinafore is by Helen of Helen's Closet! Love their choice of interesting patterns, styling and designers! (For your jacket, I don't think dying it black would go well. An analagous colour would be a safer bet - and if you don't wear it now even thought you love the pattern, then you don't have much to loose! Would you wear a darker orange? a warm brown? a red or burgundy? a yellow-er orange? all of those would be quite easy to achieve! When in doubt, I often try a muter neutral dye to tone down a colour, like a beige or taupe.

Back in the day, I had my “colors done”. IMO the reason that copper color works is because it is close to your hair color. As others have said, it makes your eyes pop so yes, I think it works too! But also so nice to see one of your Me Mades!
