HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

I'm so sorry (and embarassed) that when I lived in Singapore, I didn't travel to Indonesia. All that food looks incredible. I've had most of it as individual offerings in S'Pore, but this vid in Jakarta makes me realize I made a big mistake by not going there. The Indonesian people seem lovely, but then again, everybody appears to love you and treat you nicely. Bring on the next vid. PS Beef Rendang is one of my favorite dishes of all time. Thanks.

1. Rice porridge (bubur ayam) Looking good, but you have to mix them before eating it so the spices and seasoning could be evenly distributed and tastier. 2. Nasi rames (mixed rice) and nasi goreng (fried rice) This food saved my morning. I know it looks like lunch in the west instead of breakfast. Anw you can request the level of spiciness ;) I suggest you to look for recommended restaurant first prior to try indonesian foods, they may look the same but the chef is different. Sometimes their ethnicity background may influence the dish too. For example, Javanese tends to cook "sweet" taste dishes when some Sundanese prefers salty or a bit sour taste. 3. Nasi padang (Minangnese rice/dish) One of its dish was recognized as the tastier food in the world (i think ) by the UN? Yes it's true. You'll pay based on how many foods on the plates you eat. Thus, remember it! Different than other region, i think the sambal made by minangnese isn't that spicy which makes it 😋. Moreover, sate padang is totally different than sate ayam/sate kambing! Some people said fish head isn't healthy, however, the minangnese knows how to cook it delicately. 4. Martabak Nowadays, they have so many choices of toppings and flavors. 5. 🐟 No words just love it! However, take care of the hygiene of the food, the way they clean the plate and stuffs. All in all, nice video and looking forward to your revisit in Indonesia ;)

whoa finally you taste indonesian feast. unfortunately thats just a few type of foods, i hope you can stay more and travel to every region in indonesia, cause every region have their own special traditional food. i recommend you this city : 1. Trevor paid too much with $41 in the Padang restaurant. He could possibly pay only around $20-25. Why? In Padang restaurant principally you pay the number of pieces of food that you eat from the small plates. So if there are two pieces of rendang in the plate and you only take 1 piece they charge you only one, not two or not the whole plate. Therefore use spoon to take the rendang piece; not like Trevor, because he used his hand directly then the whole two pieces are "touched" and become unhygienic (and cannot be sold anymore) and Trevor had to pay both pieces. Had he used the spoon, he could have paid half price of the rendang plate portion. This is the same to other stuff like grilled fish, chicken gravy, cow brain in gravy, etc. as long as they are in big pieces (usually they give two pieces per small plate so that easy for the waiters/waitresses to count how many you have eaten). But different to other stuff in plates that you cannot count like chili prawns, chili chicken liver, soup, sate Padang; although you take a small part of it from the plate then you have to pay the whole plate. Indonesians are usually generous with the gravy, if you like more, just ask politely, they will add more gravy and they don't charge.

this is an amazing video Trevor! however, one quick tip, Sweet literally means Manis in Bahasa. therefore, when you said Manis Sweet Sauce, it would refer to Sweet Sweet Sauce. I'd prefer use the term "Soya Sweet Sauce" (as the sause made from soya and its sweet! good luck for your next video. Cheers!
