ABOUT FORT SOLIS:
Responding to an unusual alarm call from a remote mining base, Jack arrives at the dark and desolate Fort Solis. With storm warnings imminent, he heads inside to make desperate contact.
As the night grows longer, events escalate, spiral out of control and the mystery of what happened to the crew begins to reveal itself. The storms is approaching, limiting Jack’s escape as he looks to hold out until morning arrives.

The voice acting and animation of the characters is soooooo good, like....very amazing. Whoever did Wyatt, both the va and the animator really knocked it out of the park. The vas for the two main characters are also incredible, their banter is great.

For Wyatt the actor and team seemed to do a lot with head and shoulder movements to support the expression of emotion. Compare that to how wooden Azim looks in the found video log clips. I’m not sure the facial capture was so much better but the overall effect is drastically different.

No steel weights or bells or those dumbasshell wrist straps bc,ike warrior societies of old, I use stones, carved hardwood, handmade rope, iron ingots & sandbags to tone my currently withered body (don't have enough money to buy whole foods, so I have a dangerously low body fat index for my age ±70% of the time, insufficient fat means my body can't utilize aminos & protiens effectively if at all).

It really antagonises me with games like this, where the protagonist is communicating over a radio, and says stuff like "That's one hell of a nose bleed" or witters on for three minutes about stuff when finding a key card, without actually telling the person on the other end of the radio "I found a key card." Can you imagine being on the other end of that radio? Having zero idea what the hell is going on?

A lot like Doom 2016... the whole first bit is just walking to find the missing scientist. It's only when you find them that everything goes crazy. But that whole first bit walking is super atmospheric, full of ambient sound and lighting that sets the tone. Loving how Fort Solis is looking and doing the same.

That was crazy. Also the botanist was nuts. 1:05:22 That is a bone saw. But it couldn't be the murder weapon. The jacket looks like puncture wounds but the bone saw does not have a point to it. Odd that it is still covered in blood.

32:45 timestamp regarding stuck doors: no kidding...we had a tech get his head pinched working on a bifold door at my job and the two things that saved him from serious injury were a ladder and the door safety mechanism kicking in..and yes, this was a tech trained to work on those doors (video showed him doing something and causing the safety mechanism to shut off so he tripped something). No lie and no joke. I'm not familiar with all the graphics engines and stuff but was really impressed with the level of detail when he uses his wrist mounted computer; you can see the pull up and creases on his sleeves and glove.

"Dead Man's Hand" is Aces and Eights of clubs and spades. It is a reference to the hand that Wild Bill Hickok (a lawman in the Old West) purportedly had when he was murdered while playing, though it was never recorded what his hand actually consisted of. The combination was popularized later in a book by an author. The 'dead man's hand' has actually been several different combinations over the years.
