The accent thing is obviously something the admin/media teams at clubs outside of England tell their new English signings to do. They will also be told to decrease the number of colloquialisms and use of slang terms, to speak slower and more clearly. And yes! To talk in a certain way that sounds funny to us because they make it sound like a generic European accent smashed together with a bad actors attempt at sounding like a cool french person.
