I always miss live videos. Mary, I love your Mickey shirt! I am a grandma, I have been wearing Mickey shirts lately. Sorry I missed the live feed but am glad to watch this. Hospital rooms of today are very different from what they were like some years ago. Some of these changes make us smile, others cause an eye roll.

NC! Today is our first day without horrible wind and rain. Mary your story speaks to me so much and is so inspiring to me. Been in chronic pain for 6 years, and on meds for that and septic MRSA that I keep relapsing with. About to have my 9th surgery on my spine to hopefully give me pain relief, but like you said risks and rewards... There's a 50% chance that I'll relapse again. You guys have been added to my prayer list. God Bless and Thank you.

Thank God for generators and ceiling fans, its been so hot but so thankful we still have our lives! Wish i could have caught the live, you 2 are so cute and precious!!! I'm glad you're feeling better and I'm praying for miracles for you Mary! God bless you both, sending big hugs and well wishes! 🤗🤗🤗💖💖💖

That is so cool how you've the extra storage space, table, shelves and even a fridge! And the room is huge and it's cool that you get sofa beds :) When I'm in hospital I wish I'd a fridge (as long as it's not noisy), more and reachable sockets and table space. What would be awesome would be a little kitchenette so then I can get water whenever instead of calling catering to get me some and I could rinse out my containers that I put my nutrient drinks into. And I could make tea. With a fridge, I wouldn't have to worry about my refrigerated medications or probiotics. I'm used to self managing my condition so to have to call a nurse or catering for so many minor things is a hassle, especially when they could get delayed even though I need it now. I got a big corner room last time so I wished I'd a sofa so others could sit comfortably and so I could feel less hospital-y by being out of bed and lounging by the windows. Also I'd love to have my yoga mat so I could lie on the floor whenever I wish, to minimise pain. Hospitals mess with my posture and pain a lot. Oh and I'd love to be able to have a proper spelling mattress since I can't sleep on any others and have differently designed beds cos they bend in weird ways which aren't so helpful and they're too short for tall people. I don't know how tall people cope!

I have spent 7 weeks on a shared bay with just bedside storage a few times before. It must be so nice to have a room. also i am not aloud to have any family with me apart from 3 hours a day. its so different. even rooms dont always have a bathroom.

This may have been answered already, but that is an ante-room and it is a room designed for TB patients because it is a negative pressure room. The air doesn’t have the ability to go into the hallway. ☺️

The isolation gowns at my hospital are plastic.....Holy Moley does it get hot when we are seeing patients for PT sessions. I'm all sweaty and feel like I need a shower when I take my gown off! We have rooms with the "prep room" area outside too.....It can be for negative air pressure, like TB isolation or for patients after a bone marrow transplant. Yes to the loudness of the linen carts and laundry bag changes! It's loud when I'm in a patient's room during the day shift, I can't imagine at night. Cheering on from Chicago!!

At least you’re not hooked up to an IV 24/7. I absolutely hate being stuck on an IV or blood pressure machine. I could stay in a hospital forever and be okay if I didn’t have to be attached to the wall. And if they’d let me eat or drink. With me I’m never allowed to eat or drink just in case something goes wrong and I have to have emergency surgery. I hope you’re feeling better. I’m praying for you❤️

It's interesting to me that they don't find a way to get CF patients outside at least once a week. There are all kinds of studies showing that nature promotes healing. And the window to nature can be helpful, but physically going out and being near trees or in a garden has even better results.
