I had no idea farro is so healthy! I will start incorporating it into my diet. Thank you.

Recently added this grain to my food plan. It is so good. I love the taste and texture. Cook a batch, spread it on a baking sheet and freeze. Then store in an airtight freezer safe container so you can take out any amount as needed.

It's also great with plain yogurt or Greek yogurt for breakfast or any other time. Great job, Chef!

I just watched Sue Becker's video yesterday giving a hundred reasons why wheat berries are extremely healthy for you, and never to eat dead flower again. So today I went out and bought some Farro from Sprouts Market, they didn't have any other whole kernel wheat

Little known fact, farro is actually not originally Italian. It is an ancient Egyptian grain imported from Egypt to Rome to feed the masses

Can I cook the Farro in a rice cooker?

I do not know! Sorry!

Amazing as it sounds, but Farro is now more than twice the price of other whole grains (wheat, oat, rye and barley). It does keep that tooth when cooked. It has a lot stronger aroma than the other grains when cooking and cooked as well. In a paring cook, 90 grams farro to 10 grams pigeon pea works very well (i've tried a range of gram ratios, 9 to 1 was the most pleasant outcome to me at least).

@@theresaconley5930 Welcome. Dry goods have taken a large increase in prices and availability here and there is widening price disparities happening. In the last 6 months, at best I've seen a 45% price increase on dry goods , at worst well... 100+ % cost increases have shown up.

@@theresaconley5930 Hey an update. When I commented the price increase here was from ~40 cents / 100 grams to ~90 cents / 100 grams. Today I was out and had a look and it is now ~1.20 / 100 grams.

@@Thefrugalchef Wow! Prices are becomming unreal. It's hard to believe the increase in food and everything in such a short time. I suspect it will continue to climb though even though I hate to see that happening. We may need to hang on tight, it may be a rough ride. I hope you are well. Thank you for the updates.
