Super fun video! I loved the resist effect of the rub-ons, and the gold yarn borders - that was such a neat idea!
@kkrolf27823 жыл бұрын
You’re so right. I’d have never suspected the “rub ons” would do that! And the thread borders I THINK might be managed using a common hole punch.
@FaerieDust3 жыл бұрын
@@kkrolf2782 I'm sure you could just use a regular pair of scissors or a craft knife to cut slits in the corners, too! Don't need to buy a punch just for that :)

@@FaerieDust Yup, that’d do it, but I already have the hole punch. (I use it to punch a hole in the inside fold of xmas cards, attach an ornament hook through that and hang them all over my plantation shutters at Christmas time. Very festive!)

Girl you were on fire in this video. You were a crafting fiend and I laughed half the time. Nothing like good card making and laughter all at one time. Thanks for the tip on the rub-ons. I tried to use a rub-on on a card just recently and it moved and some stuck and some broke. At least I could scratch it off and not lose my paper and the work I’d already done. You showed that some nice looking cards could be made with inexpensive supplies from Dollar Tree. I’ve seen the stencil wheels before and didn’t think they’d do too much. But if I see that feather stencil I’m getting that sucker.

Really good tips as usual. It is cool that you could find brushes in so many colors. That would make it so much easier than having to label with colored tape or markers. One thing stampers need to keep in mind is that there is a difference in silicon stamps and photopolymer ones. They both work, but many users report there is a difference in how much pressure they require to get the best results.

Hey M B... You’ve got this! Cut ‘em apart, arrange, rearrange, change out the card bases, drag out some the OTHER STUFF you’ve got moldering in your stash... Nothing is so precious, nothing is so sacrosanct, that you can’t use some temporary adhesive on the elements, “mock it up”, and hang it on the fridge for a few days. If you like it, mail it. If you don’t, take it apart and give it another go.
@wombatiferous3 жыл бұрын
@@kkrolf2782 it's less hoarding because they're precious and more because I normally stick to layering paper and avoid really dimensional stuff so they're really outside my usual zone! @cassiescreations98283 жыл бұрын
@@thefrugalcrafter Lindsay, Art Glitter Glue is what I use. It's a bit pricey but so little is necessary to adhere something, even heavy embellishments. I recommend buying a small bottle, to make sure you like it because it grabs immediately and some people do not like that. If you make a mistake, you cannot pull that layer off as it destroys what's underneath. It's kind of like a liquid form of scor-tape, or red line tape because it grabs quickly and it's super duper strong.

Hi, Smarty Pants! The transferring of the rub-ons through a die cutting machine makes your title "Crafty Genius aka Smarty Pants" come to life. I envy your ability to just play with your supplies and have private crafty time. Now I have a funny for you. I have the industrial heat gun from Harbor Freight. I was doing a video a few years ago and I was heat embossing. I had just turned the video off and the heat gun let out an unladylike belch of fire about 3 feet long. Smoke filled the room as I let out a squeal shrill enough to make those in another town hear me. After she cooled down, I investigated why she let out a belch of fire. Nothing was inside or around the nozzle. The manager of Harbor Freight says "They are meant to be used in shorts bursts. You can't leave them running without slow movements." Lesson learned, lol. Thank you for another long video and for the company.
