I always don’t understand how come people put a thumbs down on a video. If the video is not for you and not your interest, skip to another one. But surely the you tuber had put their time and effort into making the video for us. People should be respectful of their time and certainly their feelings. These are people not robots. Be kind! No one is forcing anyone to watch a video. If you don’t like it right away, don’t keep watching and put a thumbs down. Skip to a new video and be happy.

totally Amy...if you don't like something...just go away...thumbs down is mean , really ,mean people...or ...there could be something very off with the video,...rarely though is that the case!
@JustScribble Жыл бұрын
I believe some people accidentally push thumbs down. And there’s some folks that for whatever reason don’t like a KZbinr and thumbs down each of their videos. But I stopped caring about the downs because that’s still actually helping the channel grow. The interaction - a thumb ⬆️ or ⬇️ or a comment - they all help your analytics. And I don’t think many people use that as a deterrent from watching either.

I have several of the Twinkling H2o's and I have a cheaper set I bought at Michaels. It's true that the cheaper set has great shimmer, but like you pointed out, you don't get the same color variety. For my H2os, I put them in a shallow plastic pan so I could have access to all of them at once.mi just don't bother with the lids. Works great for me.

Kristy Tyra good thing you pointed that out to me. I have a boat load of twinkling H2O’s and I don’t need to be wanting more. So this will keep Me at bay from buying these ! I had not yet thought to myself to compare the H2O’s to these. But that makes sense. They are totally similar. And I have like 76 or something of the H2O’s. So I certainly don’t need anymore. Great review. I was looking at these, but not willing to pay so much. I got some Starry Colors by Kuretake, and found myself mixing them in with the watercolors I was using, and that seems to work pretty well. I was painting in Kerby Rosanes Sketchy Stories and mixed some gold in with my Daniel Smith Burnt Sienna and some Turner Raw Umber, and stroked some onto a tree trunk, and it made a lovely bronze color. Works for me.

Samantha Glorioso Omg, that`s such a good idea. I recently bought the silver and gold watercolors and I was whining about the fact that I can`t afford the colored ones, too... LOL And I haven`t used them in a project yet. And now you come along with this great idea and this made my day :)) Thank you very much, Samantha :)) Greetings from Slovenia, Josi
@thefrugalcrafter5 жыл бұрын
often it is simply PW20 (aka mica) that is added to a very transparent ink to make the colored watercolors. Add gold to warm colors ad silver to cool colors and you will have a great selection!

thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I`m an illustrator for children and I have always worked with colored pencils and pastels. Water, brushes etc. never spoke to me, so I never gave it so much thought. I already mixed mica with average watercolors but it wasn`t what I expected. Thanks to you, Lindsay, with time I`m sure that I will get more knowledgeable in this field. Thank you!

I know I am old. I remember that you used to have to mix your own paints if you wanted a metallic or glitter watercolor paint! I used silver mica powder mixed in some Gum Arabic and put down a layer then place the color on top in a very transparent layer to get a shimmer of color! Ah the age of entitlement! Perhaps I am a bit jealous! I hope your enjoying your week and I hope your going to enjoy your week-end! Be safe, take care and have a lovey day.

Haha the good old days! These new mwtallics are fantastic. The micad are actually coated with color and they show up on black and the flash colors really sparkle. Very helpful to see the swatches. Thanks for that! I have a collection of Twinkling H2Os from way back. I have been wondering whether the Twinkling H20s are as opaque as some other shimmer brands. I want to try shimmer watercolour on black and would want nicely pigmented and opaque paints for that. Separate issue but kind of funny story--I have always found the Twinkling H2O packaging to be a huge barrier to actually using them. Unscrewing all those lids! And having all the separate lids off/getting knocked onto the floor while everything dries. Pain. In. Neck. I wanted them to be easier to use so I bought a cheap empty watercolour palette and empty half pans and have gone through the tedious process of transferring the paint into the half pans. Nuts? Perhaps. After I started I thought maybe I should have cut my losses and given away all the little pots and just bought a set of shimmer/metallic watercolours in a more convenient format!! Anyway, after topping up and letting dry several times my half pans are full. Interestingly there is about a full standard pan of paint in each of those pots, which surprised me. So I still have more transferring in my future. Not totally sure it was worth the trouble, but it's done and they will be easier to use than before. Thanks so much for this information about this brand.

Say for example if you don't have the paint that ran out in a tube but you want to fill it with a different colour. How would you clean the pan? Would you completely clean the paint in it?? Thanks from Portugal!!

I only clean it if I am going to a different color. If it is the same color in a different brand I don't clean it. If you need to clean them let then soak in hot soapy water and then use an old toothbrush to clean them.

When I could stir all of what was in each pot (will feel thick and sticky sort of, I scrapped them into full pans and let them sit overnight to dry out. Now I can use them like a watercolor but they need to be wet longer/earlier than a traditional watercolor. I do this by putting drops of water on them instead of spraying with water.
