Another point of view on this is that you can create tube flies using cheap vinyl tubing, weighted or un-weighted, without being committed to a particular hook or hook style. With the leader being threaded thru the tube body, you have the option of going with a weedless style hook if desired. This concept can be used for everything from micro streamers to Musky and saltwater patterns. Nobody talks about this.
