Wendy...I LOVE your grocery hauls! You find the best bargains! I wish we had a bigger variety of grocery stores here, but we only have certain stores. One big chain (Giant Eagle) pretty much has the area sewn up, except for Walmart, Aldi's and Marc's. They never have those extreme mark downs though. Buying basics is always a win in my book.

Very good bargains. Congratulations! They n ever have bargains like that in my area. I am 67 with health problems and I am so glad I have been stocking up all year. Do you ever get that feeling that something is coming? Well I've had that feeling for awhile. I am glad I stocked up as I have put myself in self isolation as the CDC suggested so now I don't have to worry. I have everything I need.

I started stocking up about 2-3 weeks ago once the first case registered in our state. I felt so much better after getting a few extras without going crazy. Now we have limits in our country on how much you can buy on canned and perishable items, for me there is some peace of mind that comes with being prepared for a quarantine. I’m more scared of people’s behaviour than the virus itself.

Thank you for another great video! My husband and I (and my son who was three months old) lived in the Bay area (California) when the 1989 occurred. It was terrifying, and I was not prepared. Fortunately, some young men in the apt. above us had a water filtering system and were so generous to share. We were able to scrape by. But even though we live on the east coast now, I STILL keep foods on hand for an emergency. Mainly paper products, canned beans (especially good to have when the power goes out- heated up on our grill!), canned tuna, pantry milk, nuts, nut butters and lots of foods that can be frozen like cheese tortillas, bread etc. I hope you and your family stay safe and this event will pass quickly for all of us!

Earthquakes are no joke, Patti! So glad your neighbors were so kind to share! Glad to hear you are well stocked now and I hope you and yours stay safe and well also! 💜

It looks like a good stock-up in case of emergency or if you need to self-isolate for any reason. I had sinusitis a few weeks ago and that spurred me to stock up on cold and flu meds, disinfectant spray and wipes, cough drops, tissues, alcohol and hand sanitizers. Last week, of those items, only tissues and cough drops were still on the shelves. All public schools in WA closed for 6 weeks this afternoon.

@kimmaried.73134 жыл бұрын
Tom Jones I have no idea where you got your information but it’s completely wrong. Aside from the fact that I wouldn’t suggest eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is nothing wrong with it once in a while which is the way you eat oatmeal and cream of wheat. You can only become malnourished if you don’t eat a balanced diet and you depend on one thing as your source for nutrition. I think it’s safe to say that she has common sense and makes sure her family eats well and is taken care of. Thank you for taking the time to add your two cents but please make sure you are factual before doing so 😉

Not one roll of TP or paper towels, no bananas, no pasta, no pasta sauce, no peanut butter, no sliced bread, and many more items gone! Maybe you should do a follow-up video and check the inventory at the same stores you shopped for this haul to see the difference. Panic shoppers gone wild!

Great haul! Love when you do these. Our Aldi's rarely has things marked down, especially meat. I've also noticed that some produce items, such as avocados, are much higher on the East Coast here. We don't seem to get those great deals like you do and we don't have the same stores. I did find some good deals at Smart Shopper. I quickly discovered why some of the prices are so very low... just like your Colby cheese...it has to do with the expiration date. I was able to get a half gallon of orange juice, that usually costs between $2.50 and $3, for $1.48 because the expiration date was in a few days. It was a national brand, not-from-concentrate and was very good. Needless to say I will be returning to that store. It looks like your Ralph's might be the same as our Kroger's here. Always love your videos and you always have such great suggestions! TFS 💜

Yes I freeze cheese all the time too! It gets a little crumbly sometimes and some people notice a difference eating it uncooked, others do not. Cooked there is no difference at all in my experience. Not sure on the tortillas those have a long enough shelf life for us to use it before it goes bad.

This is so interesting! We buy such different things. And the stuff you have in the US is different as well. One Bell pepper for 0.99 on sale? I bought 2 pounds for 1.99 on sale here in Germany. We eat a lot of fresh produce and most of it can't go past 2 weeks. At the same time don't want to go shopping for the next month and be exposed or bring something home on a can of tomatoes. For the virus, aren't you afraid putting the packages on the counter? I heard the virus can survive for 72 hours on surfaces, so in case an infected person touched the packages at any point it my be still on there. Pure Alkohol is not as good against viruses, stick with the peroxide for door handles and such.
@Candy_Gal4 жыл бұрын
Angelika Lirgendwas I like to wash and chop pepper, onions, celery and put them in baggies to freeze. You can then grab a handful of what you need for cooking dinner. Works great. You can also freeze mushrooms, lemons, fresh garlic. Many things you can buy fresh and freeze 😀

I am surprised you buy the bleached flour at Aldi’s, you don’t think it’s worth the extra money to buy non-bleached, non-bromated? Actually, at Restaurant Depot (a restaurant food supply wholesale outlet on east coast), you can buy 50 lbs of King Arthur flour for $14. Perhaps the west coast has something like this? Costco sells 25 lb bags of King Arthur for $13, that’s also a pretty decent price for non-bleached, non-bromated flour
