The funny thing is if you take away the 3 pack Cyclops with the jacket, the single release Legends Cyclops now is the same price or even more then this Mafex one. So for someone like me that missed out on that single release Cyclops this was an easy buy.

I was tempted by this figure when I saw the promo pics but as soon as I saw the in hand pictures I knew it’d be a pass. I am perfectly happy with my Marvel Legends Cyclops. I like his proportions better and his color scheme doesn’t bother me at all. This Mafex is too short and squat for my liking. And is 4X the cost while not being 4X better than what I have. Great review though! I had a lot of options this morning for this review but you were my number one stop.

I ended up selling my Warlock wave Cyclops once this figure went up for pre-order. _Anything_ Mafex is going to be vastly superior to it's US counterpart. Plus, I still have a Legends Cyclops - the Love Triangle one. Just like Wolverine, this new one really evokes the Marvel vs Capcom games, and I love that. And it doesn't have six oversized rings flopping around. And the harness straps are correctly sized, so the belt goes around the top of their trunks. And the complete lack of options with the Warlock one is a bummer. At least there's some options with the Love Triangle one.

FillerBunny NinjaShark it’s definitely 4x the price, more for shipping. It has way more accessories but they aren’t worth more than an extra 10 or 20 bucks. This is a 40 dollar figure max.

I think this will be my Play Day set-up. I feel like I missed some stuff with how I gotta tilt the figure away from me to catch the camera, I should have seen the bad paint on the thigh straps but I was looking up at them. Or I need a better rig and angle. Hmm.

Actually the legends head on the mafex body makes thr figure look Alot better... Which says something about mafex. I'm still excited to be getting it but disappointed by it's shortcomings. I might sticky tack the legends head on it or add shading to the faces lol

try swapping his mid and lower torso pegs to longer ones, it may create a gape but it'll look more proportionate

The lack of paint in the joints and the shortness of that shoulder strap, which forces the belt to be too far up his torso is a real issue... Because that same shortness prevents from the torso having any real articulation. I can't believe they would release a figure with that issue, especially when it would be so easy to fix in production.

I can't believe this is a 80-100 dollar figure, Spider-man and venom are the only good figures from this line and i will definitely doubt about pre ordering the batman and superman, the proportions are horrible, the qc shouldn't happen with this price point and the alternate head is worse than a ML

Seen a few reviews on this so far. Right now, the only thing that's got me contemplating getting this is that I missed out on the Juggernaut Wave Cyclops and that one is going for about $100 currently lol. So, yeah.. I guess it comes down to whether or not ppl have the Marvel Legends Jim Lee Cyke & how bad they want a more accurate color version without the jacket.

That is what got me into customizing in the first place. I guess no other version avaiable for purchase of the Jim Lee Cyke would be better, cheaper and satisfying than a custom one. Of course, we'll need to know your ways into it, and deal with our own limitations at the beggining, but still worth it!

..to those who got this figure..try to rotate/switch the dumbell joint on the neck to head if it resolves the issue..seeing the neck part hole is tight and the head hole is loose,maybe those balls on the dumbell joints aren't exactly the same diameter and have been switched on their holes..

Medicom doesn't reuses bodies between characters, as far as I know. Cyclops is similar to Venom but they don't share parts.

Not to necro-post on this video...I modded the bottom torso to sit higher, which made his upper body look way better. Also had to add a bit to his belt on the back and have it slide in and out of his undies so when you bend him the belt does not ride up.

Wasn't the Jim Lee Cyclops able to activate their optic blast via making a fist; like it was tech attached to the gloves? Which is why Cyclops is making two fists on the cover of X-Men #1. But I'm sure wearing this outfit, they pleasure pose fingered their visor to activate it. I'm like 99% sure they did that in the cartoon.

Mine is on the way to my door, I think it looks great and I am excited to put it next to my other Mafex comic figures. I will say however in NO way does this blow away the Legends version, anyone who wants to not buy this because they already have the legends isn't wrong.. this figure doesn't truly eclipse it price/value wise. That said, if you don't have cyclops.. I can't recommend paying the inflated legends price so this is a good pick up.. i've seen some great shots on reddit of this guy in legends displays already and it works fine.

Figure looks completely different from the promo pics. They made the upper torso wider and shorter... And the paint is super sloppy. I really hope their future releases to be better. Hush Batman and the Spiderverse figures look so promising and I don't want to get disappointed :(

Yeah Marvel Legends looks tons better. I’m gonna have to pass on these Mafex Xmen, I wasn’t a fan of the Wolverine once in hand and I didn’t preorder Cyclops because of it, this review confirms I didn’t make a mistake. Honestly I loved the comic Spidey but Venom and the rest have been let downs in my opinion, I hope the Batman line is consistently better.

I'm starting to think that the people at MAFEX use older Toybiz figures as models. The Spiderman figure had a very familiar feel to the Spiderman Classics one and from what I am seeing, this Cyclops looks a lot like the animated Toybiz one. I only bought one Mafex so far, the Xenomorph, it was a bit disappointing for the price point as every other Mafex that I saw reviewed turned out to be. I hope Mafex DKR is a better piece if they fail me then... I will never buy a single Mafex again.
