I think the likeness is *better* than some of the third-party heads. I've seen some of those $40+ heads look just as off as the SH Figuarts, but just a different kind of off.

That head sculpt alone makes this worth buying. Finally, a good Chris Evans likeness! That Marvel Legends Infinity War Cap’s head has always felt like custom fodder at best to me. Like, I could use it for a random Jedi or something, but it does not pass as Steve.

While gaiters and spats do protect the lower legs from underbrush while hiking, greave(s) is the term when referring to armour around the shins. They do look more like a heavy fabric than any sort of body armour... so probably gaiters is the best term. On the other hand, they are possibly Wakandan in design therefore light flexible and armour... greaves? An instance where Mr. Mustachio don't know.

I can't bring myself to trust Mafex completely, they always do these things in which the figure looks the best there is of any given character and then they screw up with QC issues or those tiny little things like the Spears or the shoulder straps. I was hoping they wouldn't mess this one up... Good review, man!

Man, despite the arms not being able to be flush to the body and limited ankle articulation, this guy looks amazing. I feel the pros outweigh the cons in this particular instance. That might be one of MAFEX’s best head sculpts to day. Easily the best 6inch Evans Cap likeness in my opinion.

Maybe. The smaller peghole is actually a separate cap inside the head. My MAFEX comic Wolverine had a cap that was loose and comes out and it then fits perfectly on a Legends ball joint.

Steve Rogers' arc is also my favorite in the whole MCU...though unlike Robo, I wasn't fond of how they ended it. It's a damn shame MAFEX takes so long to release their figures; by this point I'm kinda burned out of MCU characters and I moved on...just when companies are finally getting Chris Evans' face right!!! If they ever release an unmasked Steve Rogers with the Winter Soldier uniform, I might pick it up. Great review Robo!

I agree with you about him being a touch too big next to Thor. I’ve been popping Thor’s neck to sit more on top of the peg which gives it a bit more of an accurate look since the fig has a bit of a stubby neck compared to Hemsworth lol. Both really great figures tho!

It was near perfect if it wasn't for the ankles and the arms (which don't bother me quite as much). Not sure why they didn't just do their typical ball hinge for the ankles. But for me this is the definitive IW cap figure, so I'm excited for endgame version but I don't have hopes they'll fix the ankles lol

Well, looking at my SHF version and comparing it to this one.....just no contest, I had to order this one :) I agree on points you made about the articulation, a little disappointing. One thing I will never understand is time after time, these companies must know there are certain mandatory checkboxes to tick especially in regards to articulation when designing a figure. To me, ankle pivot is one of them. this feature is tested in all reviews since the dawn of time, maybe you can explain? :), Great review as always

This is the best infinity war captain america figure you can get. The head looks so accurate and the articulation is great. Marvel legends has tried with their infinity saga one but it doesn't come close.

Ha, it looks spectacular to me, the straps around shoulders being separate piece add dimensionality, and thats great, however the function has been compromised way too much. And dont get me started on the ankles, thats just step too far, as far as design oversight goes. Stable feet with proper range are the key to an action figure, arent they?

Highly highly recommended pinning that spear tip. Plastic glue probably won't hold long term, but a drill bit and a snippet of paper clip will go miles.

My mom bought me a PS4 so I said she bought me too much (bc she offered) and this was a couple years before I bought SHF mcu figs. I’m disappointed.
