He instead of saying relax, take over and control over the conversation since for him she is not “relax” you have be in that position and you can’t relax. This is so frustrating and trying to explain yourself when we don’t feel like we have to.

Hey! I have experience working with immigration processes for about 15+ years and have helped folks re-entering the country with advance parole. If a U.S. American airline staff did not know how to work with your advance parole, it’s gonna be worse for the staff of the airline at a foreign country that have no knowledge on the US immigration laws. When you’re coming back to the US, you won’t be able to check in your flight via online or the app and get your boarding pass. You’re going to have to go to the check in counter with the airline so they can print it off. The airline staff have to verify that you can enter the US, so just show your advance parole only. That is the only thing they need to see. Immigration at that country will check your passport to stamp it out and the airline will use your passport and advance parole to verify you’re the ticket holder. DACA is only a document that allows you to remain in the US without the risk of deportation but does not authorize you to re-enter the US which is why you need the advance parole. However, to those individuals abroad they might know what DACA kind of is and may legally misinterpret it. So all you need to do is show your advance parole to the airline staff to get on the plane. The issue why the airline checks for it, is to filter out people who may not be admissible to the US and have to be deported (expired passport, expired visa, no visa, etc), because if someone reaches US immigration and they don’t have the proper documents, US immigration will deport them automatically which costs the airline money so that’s why they make sure all of the passengers documentation is up to par before they board. Go with a lot of time to the airport when coming back to the States and only show your advance parole sheet. The airline team member if they’re young or new might now know and will seek out a supervisor too, and that is totally normal! So don’t worry, this even happens to people with green cards and who have foreign passports. Their onsite supervisor should clear them to print you your boarding pass. Happy travels!

@@jimmyjimmy1038 It's the same for advance parole in general, there are some differences with AP versus a Humanitarian Advance Parole, but in general, the same process applies (your proof of being able to have a legal entry to the US is your advance parole, not passport).

Wow your bf was not supportive at all! I understand he didn’t want the situation to escalate but his words were not it. He could’ve used a different tone/words. Definitely not the way to talk to someone who is stressed and trying to figure things out. Also, you were trying to get answers and standing up for yourself he just didn’t care to step in and back you up on how they were handling the situation poorly.

The immigration agent was fucking awesome 👏 he told me he supported daca and wishes that they could offer us citizenship. I told him “yeah I wish they did but for now we are grateful with what we got”. Airlines need to be more educated when it comes to legal matters.

This happened to me as an U.S. citizen when I was leaving to go study abroad. I had proper documentation and a letter explaining everything and the flight agent did not want to let me on the flight. Hello, I’ve traveled with DACA and in my experience. It’s not necessary to show advance parole when deporting from the US. You do show permission to enter another country such as a e-visa, passport(if the country you are traveling has no visa restrictions), or ETA. You only show your advance parole when paroling back to the US. I can see why this cause a confusion to the US ticketer. Because you didn’t have a visa to the destination.

I’m confused, was she leaving the US to Honduras? Or coming back? Because if she was going to Honduras, the ppl working there should not care what docs she has. As long as she has her Honduras passport and she clearly did. I’ve never heard of anyone having a problem flying out. Extremely weird. Coming back is another story, some agents are not familiar with the paperwork, but they ask and everything should be fine.

Im glad you took your camera out and recorded. I understand cameras make people uncomfortable, however, people need to start educating themselves, be more professional and understand the situation coming about like that manager. Sometimes footage is the only evidence we have and it’s something we can use later on in case we need it. Completely shutting the conversation was rude and disrespectful. I’m sorry you had to go through this situation and I truly hope this helps educate people who aren’t aware about advanced parole and DACA

Remember that whoever is in front of you, is the person who could go above and beyond based on your attitude. If the person is unable to help, with a smile, ask for someone else. If you are flying under unusual circumstances, always be prepared to repeat your stories and know what to say. Many people dont know what DACA is and customer service reps handle lots of BS from many customers so they might overlook things. Be patient, there is always a solution as long as you did your due diligence. No need to stay quiet when people abuse you though😂 good job recording! You never know!

Me as a man would have supported you 100% and the way your bf husband whatever he is was showing no support like he almost sounded embarrassed of you such and idiot sorry but he should have shown support not get mad about it when he doesn’t know the struggles you went through already.
