I feel you. I have just returned a month ago from traveling with advance parole and it was a nerve racking experience. But I am glad I did it. My inspection only took about 8 minutes, I wasn’t asked any questions. The border patrol agente just handed me my password stamped and said welcome back and you can go now ! I had tears in my eyes walking to the baggage claim! It was a huge relief. Thanks to the Lord I got in safe!

I’m so happy to see my fellow dreamers going back to our home country with advance parole. It sucks that you had such a bad experience leaving the country but I’m so glad you made it back safely. I went to Honduras too with my advance parole in September and it was such a bittersweet moment taking it all in seeing how far I’ve came. I do feel like every person has a different experience because I wasn’t asked anything from the officer (I came through Miami, FL) stamping my passport and I also got my form back. I was seated down for 15 minutes and it was quick but I did get my luggage checked and they threw my rica sula away😢. Nonetheless it felt like a weight being put off my shoulder getting out of U.S. customs and knowing you’re safe and out of harms way. I too dream of the day I’ll be back in Honduras you develop so much gratitude and love for seeing where you came from and where you are now. I wish all my dreamers success and happiness❤️

I'm so glad you still were able to travel despite the first airline being so uneducated. I traveled with advance parole in May of 2022 with my 2 us citizen kids. It was the scariest thing I had to do in a while. The thought of thinking I can be self deporting myself and not even know it. Luckily it all went well I was less than 5 minutes in the room . But I went thought the san diego/tj border. Unfortunately I don't have a path to citizenship at the moment but I'm still grateful that I was able to go back after 20 years

I’m going to apply for advanced parole hopefully soon. I need to see my grand father since he’s very old now and my grandma passed away last year. I’m so nervous about being rejected. I thought the room was fine. A lot bigger than what many people making seem like. I noticed that they also bring U.S citizens into that room if they need to re-verify their documents as well. Though, those 5 minutes feel like forever. It is satisfying when the officer gives you back the stamped passport and tells you, Welcome back... :)

Welcome back!! I came back through Atlanta GA and they didn’t question me at all just stamped my passport and told me I was all good to go and yes they’re supposed to keep the AP paper.

They are not supposed to keep it, that's your proof you have that you legally left the USA and returned legally this is huge in the event an opportunity comes for you to become a citizen or resident by you presenting these two documents you cut down 2 to 3 yrs of process as you already did what they ask for you to leave the country legally and re enter. Get informed your with lawyer super important

They’re not supposed to keep it but it’s not the end of the world if they do because there’s other ways of proving her legal entry, such as her stamped passport and her I-94 which can be found online by entering her details. She will still be able to adjust her status :)

I got called into one of those rooms after I got back from Egypt (I’m a citizen) so I was just annoyed , poor girl was in there didn’t know English and having her whole bag tan thru , they finally talked to me and put me in a separate room with 2 officers asking me questions that someone with my name has been spending months in Egypt and needed to know what connections I have over there

They always send me to secondary inspection, no matter where I fly into the U.S. from, whether I cross by land or sea, something I have come to expect and I am a citizen. I always end up stuck waiting for a good hour or more so I know to schedule my flights accordingly anymore.

Hi all, I am also from Honduras and got my AP approved and I have a question. I entered the country with my mom as a minor I was 13 and we were detained by customs in Texas. Does anyone here have a similar situation and traveled with AP? I don’t want to run to an issue where they tell I have a deportation or something like that. I don’t know if us as minors we are held accountable for our parents actions. My mom said we never showed up to court. I would appreciate any insight.
