Everyone thinks they’re being clever when they make the derr derr 2 games and 3 remasters “joke” and have zero clue what it takes to make the kind of game entitled consumers expect. Can’t turn around 500 million dollar game in 2 yrs. It’s not 2007 anymore. People need to f’ing accept that part 3 is gnna come in motherfing 2026 or 2027 and that’s the way it is. As an aside the people that can’t accept the story arc in part 2 are the underdeveloped brains of 24yr old dudes and younger. (Kids basically.)

I think you fail to realize where the complaints of current day naughty dog stems from. Nobody's expecting them to have already dropped a brand new IP on ps5 after releasing tlou2 in 2020. The issue is the events for how all this has transpired. The ugly rollout/leaks prior to last of us 2 dropping, the game itself, no factions included day one. Factions being later promised only to fall flat on it's face and potentially canned later. Remaking a game for $70 that was already remastered prior and not even including the full game with having factions 1 not even included, that same game being a buggy mess on PC for awhile, now this. Naughty dog has done all this to themselves and ruined their image over time all while not revealing to us a single DETAIL of a NEW game. Now I personally still think they are one of the best developers in the game, but if you don't understand all that I just said and where people's frustration come from then you're being completely delusional.

Please advise of another game/studio that is capable of not only making a successful tv show adaptation of a game, but the second most watched show the past 15yrs on a platform known for the greatest tv content ever such as sopranos, curb, game of thrones etc. Every other attempt has been laughably bad. When you say “the game itself” that’s incredibly subjective. Beyond subjective, especially considering it’s the second most awarded game ever after Elden Ring. Their literal intent with the game was to be divisive. I’d say that they succeeded. I’m sure they love people being in their feelings because it shows how much they care. The PC port was initially a challenge yes, but I would encourage research on all known PS titles being ported to pc and the challenges every-one had to face. This isnt exactly exclusive to NaughtyDog. Now, ND can 100% communicate better. However, Druckman made it clear that he isn’t saying diddly dam poo until a game is close to release to eliminate crunch culture and also precisely because of the leaks. It’s no secret that ND is working on 3 projects right now. We know what two of em is gnna be, and people are just going to have to wait.

It’s been long enough to where I feel I can give it a another shot. Honestly dont think this is as bad as the part 1 remake just because for previous owners its only a $10 upgrade whereas with part 1 you still had to pay full amount without factions even included. That said Naughtydog are still milking this series way too much. This is why a dev like Insomniac is Honestly goated. They clearly have a series that racks in the sells and cash in Spiderman but they still make other games like Ratchet and clank which i can guarantee another one will be announced next year or latest year after that. By the time Naughtydog releases an original title for the ps5 Insomniac will already have atleast 4 😂

Exactly what I was thinking. I give Last of Us 2 a 5/10. Graphics and gameplay are good but the story is trash. Essentially, half the game is good, the other half I dont give a fuck about lol

It would seem that this is another lazy cash grab by ND and Sony… although, the upgrade path only being $10 may be worth the price of admission for the horde mode alone. Only time will tell.

Not enough credit given to the $10 digital upgrade option. They didn’t have to do that. TLOU fan boys/girls/theys/thems would still be buying this for $60-70+.

The upgrade to the new version for $10 is kinda dlc? They may have shot themselves in the foot calling it a remaster rather than a “ultimate edition”. We’ve seen lots of games come out later on with dlc content added to the game and be labelled as a “ultimate edition” and retail for full price
