I disagree with alot of these rankings, you can tell that actual bars are not counted into the ranking system. Steve vs Jaque ''the disses are not as heavy as they could be?'' They literally chanted nazi 3x to make a point about Jaque's brother being a nazi collaborater in WW2 and how steve died to ''a fish kids pet at the aquarium.'' Having frederick so low cause they tried to bring across a point but not bringing up the insane bars they both had? Why is Gordon vs Julie ranked so low while you admit the impressions are on point and the bars are very clever. It is cause you just dont like the greenscreen? That's honestly not a valid point to bring it down so far when ERB is all about: Bars, Impressions and good editing. If you have 2/3 you do not deserve to be in C tier together with Hulk Hogan vs Kim jung, Chuck norris vs Abe with chuck literally just making chuck norris jokes. Alot of bias towards season 5 purely cause of the graphics is what i'm sensing.

My biggest problem with this list, and this guy in general. Is the idea that season two was their best and a peak. The older ERBs, while fantastic and memorable in ways. Simply weren’t that good, lyrically, production wise and lacked the bars and hits later battles produced. I love many of the older ones, but putting them above battles like Alexander the Great vs. Ivan the Terrible is disrespectful.

I’ve heard a bunch of complaints about Lincoln slapping Trump twice in Trump v Clinton. I remember the first time I watched it, thinking “oh he’s being chivalrous and not hitting a lady” and I still believe that’s what they were going for. While ERBs depiction of Abe Lincoln is nowhere near historically accurate I still think they had him purposefully not hit Hillary only to show that he is a gentleman, not to say that Trump lost

I agree that they didn't specifically set Trump up for a loss in the battle. His first verse is completely over-the-top and out-of-bounds. That's exactly what he did.. I think they actually gave (intentional or not) a very accurate depiction of the results of the election in 2016. Everyone expected Hilary, and when Trump took the electoral college it was not the 'honorable' victory we had expected. Also, just to be clear, Trump supporters, mostly, don't belong in online discourse.

I've been a Trump critic since 2010 but ERB is an entertainment channel where each character should have a fair shot to win. Regardless of how people feel about Trump in real life. @@user-dm4hk8me3n to be honest though, 90 percent of the verses have a multitude of historical references, so you dont really get to enjoy the script nor get the roasts unless you really know your stuff about each of the philosophers. the fact that it was chaotic kind of really adds up to the initial idea that in real life none of the philosophers would get along due to how different their beliefs are to one another. and the flows from both sides are actually very smooth in my opinion, the editing is not overbearing and i love the details that take quite a few more watches to notice, plus the acting, the cosplay and the overall portrayal of each of the characters felt very on point so id say that although a lot of aspects in the rap battle may be easily overlooked, there’s no denial that upon further inspection you can sense that a lot of care has been put into it. my only complaint is that it should have been longer due to having literally 6 characters rap in it, so you’d obviously wanna take your time to flesh each out with its potential. however, the little time we have gotten was nevertheless a great preformance.

Ok so I disagreed heavily with this list and I began to feel like a douche but I see a lot of people are on the same boat as me. I think the Gamer From Mars and his crew were really blinded by nostalgia. The Mario Brothers vs the Wright Brothers and the Master Chief vs Leonidas battles, although classics, are so bad. I also think a lot of possible political disagreements skewed this list. ERB has always had a slightly liberal slant and it would faulty to say that they got more political over the years because that's not true, they've always had that viewpoint. The first rap battle is them calling O'Reilly a "right-wing political machine" and in the first Nice Peter vs EpicLloyd, Pete clearly says "You and Bill O'Reilly can both suck my dick." There are more examples but you get the point. Overall, I respect the effort made to make this list, but heavy disagree and your methods for ranking them were not great in my opinion.

You know I really enjoyed this list, you're really good Creator! I may not agree with almost any of the rankings, but still I actually sat through the whole thing and took legitimate criticism about the rap battles. Basically this was a great video there's a few things that you could polish up on but still keep up the good work!

In my opinion, nothing tops the all-encompassing atmosphere of discomfort and unsettling performances of Jack the Ripper vs. Hannibal Lecter. It perfectly matches the series' strengths, presenting pop culture alongside history and comparing the two with depth, brevity, and an intensely personal atmosphere. I'd also argue that Alexander vs. Ivan is WOEFULLY underrated for the well-crafted narrative alongside the exceptional verses. Tony Hawk vs. Wayne Gretzky has so many double entendres that it'd make your head spin. George Carlin vs. Richard Pryor is a personal pick since it gives some props to my hometown and that tribute to Robin is just so bittersweet (although Eddie Murphy likely should've been included in the mix). Retro battles that hold up are Jobs v. Gates, Tesla v. Edison, Seuss v. Shakespeare because of the excellent flows, and likely many more. Lastly, strongly disagree with Luke vs. Harry. Animation is fantastic, rhymes left me wanting more. And a general note, ERB's balance of mass appeal and appeals to history buffs/nerd culture/rap aficionados is another of its great balances that rarely gets discussed. They manage to walk manage fines lines, often with spectacular grace.

I don't think Jefferson vs Douglas deserves to be as low as it is. The first part is just too good IMO. Criticisms are valid, but to me personally the bad second half doesn't detract as much from the overall quality.

I always thought the Lincoln Slap at the end of Clinton vs Trump was because Lincoln was a considerable gentleman in history so hitting a woman wouldn’t have really matched his historical past (considering the status quo and if I am wrong about the gentleman part, I am not fully aware of all Lincoln history). This would make sense since the Romney vs Obama fight, he was able to slap the two since they were all men.

The worst part of Jefferson vs Douglass is that they completely waste Frederick Douglass. They could have replaced Douglass with any random former slave, and nothing really would change. The man was much more than just "a former slave". He taught himself how to read, he was a proponent of women's suffrage. He even faced ire from other abolitionists because he was willing to talk with and even work with slave owners and former slave owners as long as it was towards the goal of emancipation.

Anyone here after the Richard vs Ragnar rap battle? Which tier would that go in and why?

That one is really good IMO. Hard-hitting beat, complex rhyme structures, pretty savage disses, good acting, lots of great wordplay. Some great examples of wordplay: "Your only son was illegitimate, you heired on the side" (heired/erred homophone, and Richard's son is his heir which he sired "on the side" AKA illegitimately) "You might have the Axe, but I make a body spray" (Axe is a body spray and Richard is saying that he cuts his foes down such that they spray blood) "You couldn't even beat a Salad in a fight" (Saladin was a contemporary and political rival of Richard I, although Richard did beat Saladin in a fight multiple times despite not conquering Jerusalem as Ragnar pointed out in the battle). Costume and makeup is also on point. A/B tier for me because it was really solid and got me to learn about Richard and Ragnar.

For me it’s A-Tier. I rank my ERBs on how the balance of performances from both sides. So the reason it’s not in S is because I think Ragnar completely brutalized Richard and didn’t give him a chance to be great.
