Generally it appears to be a Eastenders rule that other characters are only allowed to punch or beat Phil in a fight once and that’s it. The writers don’t like to show Phil as ‘losing’ or looking weak for too long.

Agreed. There's a later scene where Dennis just goads Phil into punching him and he does nothing to defend himself, even when lying on the floor with Phil going to get a brick to hit him with. You could tell it was almost written to be the equaliser for this scene.

@@Wolf_of_Small_St agreed. At least Dennis was shown as wanting to fight back after Phil punched him during the Christmas episode. He recovered quite quickly and Den had to call him off. In this feud, I guess Dennis did sleep with Phil’s sister and then wife (also the nanny for Louise but I can’t remember if Phil cared about that), which is worth a lot more points than a few punches anyway.

I agree with this comment. This clip here shows that Dennis isn't scared of Phil and is willing to go toe to with him all for it to go down the drain later on.

Dennis floored Phil with a single punch so he was pretty tough and honestly Phil backed out of fighting him one on one and Dennis was eager to fight Phil so he clearly had the edge over Phil but Grant was another story@@evildeed90s

@@evildeed90s phil never ate him for breakfast he punched him a couple of times both of them Dennis didn't fight back for reasons and Dennis actually offered Phil a fair one on one fight and Phil chickened out and sent heavies.

@@spencerreid2086 no such thing as a fair fight the streets are mean if they are your beliefs i hope you never get into a fight i was a semi pro boxer fighting in a controlled fair and safe environment is alot different than having a street fight everything goes in a real fight he can pick up a weapon you can get stabbed his mates could jump in to help him its a hole different ball game.
