I Tested the iPad Mini 7 for Music Production - I was Shocked!

I just took the plunge on an iPad Air 11" M2. The mini is way too small for my big fingers but man, that's a pretty nice powerhouse. Hit's way above it's size !

i upgraded from the iPad mini 2, so obviously it's a revelation for me! i'd imagine that if you're an iPad mini 6 user, you'd be less impressed. love the form factor. fits in perfectly between my iPhone mini 13 and MacBook Pro. good to see a positive review which puts the new iPad mini into context.

I play with an iPad for a few years and it’s just great since you can put it in your pocket. I wish they would make an iPad mini pro

It’s the first model of iPhone I ever owned and the first I used GarageBand for iOS on.

I've got yet another blown iPad on it's way back to Apple, its 10th generation, display backlight failure 😢 the big ones seem not the most durable or reliable item but there's no other tablet as fast and easy to make music with+AUv3s! so I'm hoping for good luck with my replacement 👍if it doesn't work out this one would be perfect! Pop a kid's case on with a handle, makes it so much easier to carry around 😊

I use a 12.9” usually and using something so much more portable was really refreshing.

@@TheGaragebandGuide have you tried the 11"? but I would imagine between the mini and the almost 13" I'd prefer to bring around the mini and its nice to know it can handle the power as well, what do you usually use the m2 iPad for and how come the mini gets so much hate for being a S year? also I have the non - M iPad and I was thinking of upgrading to the m2 instead of the m4 but now I'm reconsidering and wanting to add mini to my lineup I dont know! I love garage band too

How do you find the battery life when using audio apps? The mini 6 absolutely guzzles energy with any audio app running, even if you put a to sleep.

@@NeilBaylis good question I love my 11 inch because the battery lasts but it doesn't mean I dont keep a power bank handy it does drain faster when doing stuff especially a full brightness

The format is great but the synth apps on ios simply don't use that massive processing power and in 10 years this device will still be waiting for a good sounding auv3 synth that actually uses the full potential.

I wasn’t convinced until I saw it ‘in the flesh’ to be honest (thought it might be a bit too ‘rose gold’). It’s beautiful and far more interesting than yet another Space Grey iPad 😂
