I want one that supports (a) the use of AUV3 plugins in lieu of physical pedals (b) lets me create and select between presets (at the pedalboard or project level) whilst (b1) keep audio trails when I change to presets (b2) making the preset selection process easy and finally (c) supports control by a MIDI controller as my hands are full of a guitar and pick Thanks!! I really want to ditch my Line 6 Helix floor model and just use my iPad, and while I think AUV3 plugins are amazing, I am skeptical any software "host" supports or well support the preset creation, management and selection. But I can't remember ever using any of these apps when I was recording in either Garageband or Logic. I guess I'm not very picky and I use the built-in stuff. As you pointed out, it's very good and all most people need. I do like playing with Tonebridge.

I wonder why plugins are much cheaper for iPad than they are for Mac/PC, lol, not that I'm complaining. The Nembrini 8180 sounds BETTER than the real 5150 stack I once owned; that's insane. As for full guitar/bass layouts, I think the Yonac Tonestack is the best out there, better than even Amplitude or Overloud. Until I got an iPad, I had never heard of them. And their slide app, and their synth/organ apps are unreal. Their organ app has several 60s type organs which no one else emulates. Okay, I'll shut up now. 😛

On another note, Rhino sounds great but I find the interface intimidating. At least Bias FX and ToneStack have an interface guitar players can relate to (amp faces and familiar pedals). Thank you!

Hey. One year later. I use bias fx 2 live as my main amp and drives (Mac mini) and I use it on iPhone for my backup rig (with an xtone pro) I have to say it is the best sound and UI you can get but, it's feckin pricy in comparison to other apps. (spesificly iOS) You get what you pay for with this stuff, for the most part anyway. I love it but to be fair every app he showed here is pretty class so, pick a UI you like and your most of the way there. (bias has an unlimited amount of pedals you can chain; depending on your phone/iPad's CPU I guess, it's never come up for me. also midi mapping for every little thing, a lot of the other apps are lacking in both of these feature sets. Honestly I have no idea why im still typing, sorry (-:
