The first counter removed has 4/x+4 chance of being picked. So that would be the first trial. Hence, the next probability being 3/x+3 as that is the probability of the pulling a red AFTER a red has been picked. Adding up to two taken

For that last question, you didn't need to do that much work for it, all I did was see that we r trynna find the probability of 2 blue counters. So u can now assume that the 2 counters that you picked r blue, so 1/3 is The same as 2 counters. So to find 3/3 you just multiply 2 by 3 which is 6, meaning X=6
