One more time... great researcj, and an excellent video production! Must agree that as a new performance benchmark, the gen III is an amazing engine. Questionable cam and lifter lubribcation, MDS system, and dropped valve seats are all issues that scare me and I'm not convinced they were ever totally fixed. Nevertheless, I think the 6.4L SRT version is the best of the breed, and I would love to have a late 300 SRT as the ultimate American performance sedan benchmark. Great video series... Thanks!

Nicely done once again. The gen III hemi was an nice turn on the automotive industry. The 2003 dodge commercials are what got me into the newer style hemi engine. I like my 2005 dodge ram hemi. The power to weight is dam near perfect and theirs no MDS. The PCM is less restrictive, so tuning the engine is really nice. My truck sits on an 2 inch lift and 35inch Al terrain tires with an 6k rpm redline it gets to 120mph pretty fast. If my truck ever drops an valve seat I’ll just throw on an 6.1 intake and cylinder heads because parts are interchangeable. Keep up the great work 👍🏻

They should have made a hemi head inline 6. My idea got many others. I have always loved MoPar. Great video.

False Porche uses Chrysler Semi Cumbustion Engine of the 1950's from the Chrysler/Plymouth Division! Porche didn't have a HEMI Automobile Ever! The Chrysler HEMII is derived from the WWII XP Chrysler 16-Cylinder HEMII Aircraft Engine for "The XP47-Thunderbolt Fighter or Pursuit Airplane!

Rumor has it that in 2018 all the Scat Pack 392 Challenger/Charger models used the beefier BGE block. Do you know if that rumor was true??

I just watched the two part series on the gen 2 HEMI or elephant motor Very impressive. The gen111 caries on the legacy but with modern computer controlled motors the new HEMI is not as far ahead as the original. GM and Ford have monster power also these days

According to ButterDaInsider, a new HEMI V8, or Mopar V8, may be in the works. And he has a theory that "Last Call" and the special models were planned to maintain interest in the aging cars, so sales wouldn't slip in anticipation of their replacements. It could be wishful thinking on Butter's part. We'll have to see. Dodge has been quiet lately.

glad I was able to buy a brand new hemi 5.7 like to get a new 6.4 hemi 6 speed and be the orig owner who would of thought. every one could afford and daily drive a hemi

I don't know where you got your info for the 03 Hemi which i was a proud owner of being copied from Porsche. I dont see any resemblance from Chryslers 5.7L Hemi V8 to a flat head engine. I also fail to see any design even close in the cylinder head chamber. I call B.S. on that one.

The change in the combustion chamber was a must to pass emissions and get better gas mileage. A true hemi chamber has a huge volume. Also the pistons would have to be domed which raises weight and cost. I think it still deserves the name becasue it is still a pushrod v8 with similar valvetrain and rocker setup and a deep skirt with cross bolted mains, 8 bolt crank, etc. If they didn't call it a hemi everyone else would
