Great tips on blending. If you want a more painterly style, you should choose a different brush than the soft brush and then blend using manual (which I prefer), mixer, or smudge blending techniques.

You're absolutely correct. Since this is a beginner tutorial, I aimed at using the most basic default tools to get the best results without complicating things.

Yes please also upload the full length video. If possible, could it have commentary? One of the issues I find with online tutorials- some, not all- too fast, don’t explain enough and not clear and loads of waffling about philosophy of their own art. Some even sell their tutorials with no audio commentary and poor subtitle/captions! But yours on KZbin are very helpful and I can practice at my own pace. Thanks

I see where you're coming from. I prefer to get straight to the point. I might add some casual commentary for the full length video when I decide to upload it.

Yes! Click on settings (gear icon at the bottom/top left corner) then click on 'Audio Track' and then select 'English (United States) original' or any of the other languages listed as per your preference. I hope this helps! 😁

i cant pin point what it is but something about the end result feels a bit flat maybe due the lack of ambience? can you answer this? it's educational purposes im not criticizing for bad intentions
@TheGeekArtist3 күн бұрын
Thanks for your honest feedback! 😁 It is a certain art style that is limited to a point in terms of rendering and realism. It's not a hyper realistic art style. It's semi realistic. It could be made to look more realistic by rendering it further through adding more details such as, higher contrast shadows and finer texture details which are currently missing. Those would add further depth to this. Another reason could be the contrast with the background. Sometimes a particular art piece might look great with white background but can look really flat on a black background, and vice versa. But it may look balanced and more pleasing to look at on a gray background. In case it doesn't, increasing the contrast and adjusting the levels slightly can fix that and make it pop more. These are perceptive illusions. Long story short, you're probably right. And there definitely are ways to make it pop more and look less flat. It just wasn't something I was going for in this video. Realism wasn't the goal here. Just blending colors in a short time and in an easy and simple way to make a moderately presentable artwork was the goal here. Definitely there's scope more more development and detailing.
